#1514534 Cam Newton MRI

Posted by monstercat on 12 November 2011 - 04:01 PM

Not to nitpick, but everyone doesn't have enough time to listen to panthers radio talk 5 days a week.

Like I said, there have been thousands of links to WFNZ on this board and they're all about the Panthers. If you don't know about it, then you must have recently jumped on the Panthers bandwagon, which is fine, but don't tell me you have to live in Charlotte to know about Brett Jenson or WFNZ because you can click the links and listen from anywhere.

#1496190 The Official Naanee is Garbage Thread

Posted by monstercat on 31 October 2011 - 01:11 PM

i have a feeling the people defending him have never even played backyard football

if they did, they never managed to win

When I was young, I would have dominated you in back yard football.

I just think these threads are ridiculous. Naanee got wide open and made a big time 3rd down catch on a bad throw yesterday and you refuse to give him one ounce of credit for it. I'm not saying the guy is Jerry Rice, but he's not garbage either. He's a hard worker and he has made a contribution to this team. You act as if Naanee is the main reason why we're losing these games and that's not even close to the truth.

#1491056 Clausen leaving...

You guys can put down Clausen all you want, but he gained a lot of respect from me by handling the drafting of Cam Newton with nothing but class. I wish Jimmy the best, whether he stays here or ends up somewhere else. I honestly think he can still be a pretty decent QB in the right situation.

#1437286 If you buy into passer rating...

Posted by monstercat on 03 October 2011 - 12:22 PM

I realize that, but look at the number of attempts his team has had in the redzone and how many times they have walked away without a TD. I am not just looking at passing TDs........a lot of QBs have done better. If the offense had gotten in more......we would have more wins

Yeah, but Newton has had 4-5 TD passes called back in the redzone. The penalties have been very costly.

#1435617 Cam's Response to Olsen

Posted by monstercat on 02 October 2011 - 07:27 PM

I wonder if some of you have ever played sports. Players get emotional after a hard fought loss and sometimes they snap at each other. It's normal. I'm sure the talking heads will babble about this for a couple of days and the sheep will call in and voice their opinions like this is a national tragedy, but I guarantee you that Olsen and Newton are already over it.

#1417690 N.C. State deflated in Cincinnati loss

Owen Spencer, Jarvis Williams Darrell Davis >>> TJ Graham, Jay Smith, Quinton Payton

Who are those people, and what do they have to do with RW's ability to make plays that aren't there? Face it, when you have a guy like RW, it not only frustrates the opponent because instead of covering for 3 seconds, they often have to cover for 7-8 seconds and worry about him running, due to RW's ability to buy time, but it also motivates RW's own teammates to play just a little harder because they know they are never out of it with a guy like that. On Thursday night, Glennon's teammates quit on him because they knew they had no chance.

#1413818 Saints fans put their knowledge on display...

Posted by monstercat on 22 September 2011 - 02:17 PM

not to mention 5-10 of those passes every game are some type of screen play for them stains.

That's the whole point. The WCO is based on short passes. Watch any Saints game, and you will see that a very large chunk of Brees's numbers come from those short, high percentage, passes that get his RB's and WR's in space so they can run. Of course, Brees is very good and he does throw it down the field a good bit, but most of his long throws are set up by the short stuff he uses early in the game. Their offense is as QB friendly as it gets, so any Saints fan who claims that Newton is only putting up numbers because of the offense he's in, is nothing but a hypocrite.

#1411924 Del Rio: Gabbert starting.

Posted by monstercat on 21 September 2011 - 02:04 PM

i was anti-yo gabba gabbert during the draft. i thought he was vastly overrated.

You may be right, but he can do one thing that could hurt us along with their running game...he is very good at getting the ball out of his hands quickly for those dink and dunkers that extend drives. I guarantee you they want to play keep away so that our offense can't do anything but watch.

This is not a guaranteed easy win for us, regardless of what people say. We must stop the run and make them one dimensional, and that's easier said than done with a banged up defense that hasn't proven that they can stop anybody's run yet, and has given up lots of big plays on runs and passes.

#1406345 Did we misuse money on DeAngelo?

Posted by monstercat on 19 September 2011 - 10:46 AM

Good grief. Williams hasn't lost anything. We have played two games and both opponents have game planned to stop the run and make the rookie QB beat them. I promise you that there will be some games coming up where Williams and the running game will be big for us. These knee jerk judgments are ridiculous.

#1404615 "I want it right now and I'm gonna get it right now"

Posted by monstercat on 18 September 2011 - 07:03 PM

Ladies and gentlemen, this ride is gonna be EPIC! I don't know how many wins the Panthers will get this year, but this train is just leaving the station right now. Just wait til this coaching staff has had enough time to build a better team around Cam. Atlanta, New Orleans, and Tampa better get their licks in while they still can.

Well I was hoping that TRD would just admit that he was wrong about Cam and move on. I could have respected that.

Good grief. How can anybody make a definitive judgement based on two preseason games?

#1328837 My observations of Cam Newton's game

Posted by monstercat on 14 August 2011 - 05:24 PM

Look. You can talk about mechanics and footwork until your blue in the face, but it's very obvious that Cam brings an energy to this team that has been missing for years, if it has ever been this way. His coaches believe in him and his teammates believe in him and, so far, he has gotten positive results at every level he's played.

As for the mechanical issues...they are 100% correctable. You either believe he will fix them or you don't. I'm betting that he will work his butt off to be the best he can be.

Play 4: Reverse, good block by Cam to spring Cam. Positive result

Wow, he can even block for himself.

Yeah, I know you meant Clowney instead of Cam, but I had to do it.
