In Topic: Overachievers and Underachievers

I never post on here anymore but this thread made such a refreshing change from all the whiner rants and descriptions of where people would like to deposit various body fluids in the vicinity of Mr Newton that it brought me out of lurkerdom.

Bravo I say, the huddle needs more analysis of this calibre. It mainly confirms what we already knew but at least it's backing up opinion with fact.

In Topic: Troy Smith, Vet QB for Next Season

15 November 2010 - 08:52 AM

I watched his first career start in London live. He did didlly squat for most of the the game missing easy passes while in the pocket. Looks best while on the move or forced into slinging it. Good arm that makes his decision making look better than it actually is. Didn't look too interested in running the ball except at the goal line. Basically he's a weaker, slower Vick who's more commited to passing than Vick used to be. An analysis which a year ago would have been damning. But now I say sign him for a cheap 5 year deal, get him convicted for a felony and then look forward to having an All-Pro QB in 2 years time.

At least your never more than a year away from contention in the NFL .... unless you're in Detroit, Oakland or Cleveland.

I think the reason a lot of people like reading what you post Mr. Scot is that your own personal opinions are usually convoluted and conflicted (in a good way!) and thus you analyse everything from multiple points of view.

While there are other good posters on here most of them are highly opinionated and only provide one perspective on a given topic. You always provide at least two.

In Topic: Injured RB's

Any word on our 3 injured RB's?

I was really excited to see Sutton finally get some time and tear it up, not so excited when his cart rolled past me to the locker room.

Funny how quickly your deepest position can become your most shallow.

We learned in 05 that you need 4 good backs because RBs can fall like flies in a run heavy offense.
