In Topic: When a persona overtakes reality...a.k.a..the Kraken

But the reality is that he isn't signed for next year hasn't agreed to a long term contract and I have heard rumors that gettleman had concerns about his emotional maturity before any of this.  So to assume he is likely gone is hardly a leap when it is likely that either Hardy or Johnson was going to be gone anyway.  This just helps tip the scale more toward Hardy being gone.

Exactly.  We knew that after this season, we would not be able to afford both Hardy and Johnson.  We drafted an insurance policy with Ealy with that in mind.  Then Hardy gets in trouble and makes the decision easy for the Panthers.  The combination of the high salary he will demand and his trouble with the law (not to mention a probable multi-game suspension to start the 2015 season) make this a pretty easy choice.  Someone will pay him really big money this off season, but it won't be us.  I think it has more to do with a business decision than it is a morality decision.

Regardless of what exactly happened, the bottom line is that PJ is in the headlines for the wrong reasons. The Hornets took a risk in drafting him knowing his history.  Only 10 days into his pro career he is becoming a headache.  How long will his talent level on the court be worth the headache he is causing the organization off the court?

PJ could live off of a diet of cocaine and jack daniels and would still be a better player than Henderson. Idc what he does outside of basketball as long as he shows up to work.

That is why people are worried.  His decisions off the court cost him his college eligibility, and his ability to "show up for work" at Chapel Hill.

The good thing is, that if he does continue to be a knucklehead, the Hornets can part ways with him and all that has been wasted is a late 1st round draft pick.
