Mr. Scot

If we learned that Newton is indeed "sick of football"...

True, the Panthers are a mess and it's now up to Tepper to fix this crap of a football team.  It's time to exercise the curse that has been on this team since inception.  I'm tired of getting my hopes up.

where's he given any indication of this? these kinds of threads are as useless as asking if it's true cam newton is secretly four owls in a trenchcoat and far more damaging.

I sometimes wonder how much I'd care if the team wasn't a hometown team, to be honest.    Anyone else ever think about that?

Not saying there is other than speculation. I'm asking what your opinion would be if you found out that it was true.

And keep in mind, this doesn't necessarily point a negative finger at Newton. One of the perfectly valid options here would be "I don't blame him".

In general, but more specifically the Panthers.  Pro football is just not that much fun to watch anymore.

Again, same here. I've pretty much lost interest. Panthers are my last handhold of interest for the NFL. I've seen too much poo going on.

Agreed. I'm watching less and less NFL football over the years. The level of officiating has a lot to do with it for me. In the past, even if the Panthers sucked I'd still watch a lot of NFL football as a casual observer. I don't know if the officiating really is that much worse or if the multitude of HD views from nearly every angle make it that much more obvious, but it's really starting to feel WWE-esque where it's just part of the storyline.

If he’s not mentally( or physically) capable of being a starting qb then put him on IR, let him retire., there’s no sense putting on the pads if you can’t do your job.

Not sure who gets the most playing time between Allen and Grier. If Allen starts and does well they may want to keep playing him but they obviously want to see what Grier can do as well.

Thread is bad, and OP is bad for starting it. But hey, you gots to get that pie. Am I right?

Just a few weeks ago Cam said he felt like a rookie again. But all of a sudden he "Has lost interest". LOL I have said it before, but it bears repeating. You folks are killing me.

Cam hasn't looked like the same Cam for a few weeks. He was looking like he had a lot of his mojo back at training camp, but he doesn't look like he's got the same fire anymore.

I think luck retiring has probably done a lot to plant this seed in people's heads and could have given Cam reason to reconsider his commitment to the game. Him being hurt probably hasn't helped anyone jumping to this possibility either.

The only thing I could justify this with is what he said about being tired of being injured and the fact that we aren’t seeing the same jovial Cam that we normally see

The situation sure appears to be headed in that direction.

I still get a kick out of watching other pro football games. Not having a vested interest makes a difference.

With that said, while I usually caution against taking the view of "we're bad  and everybody else is good" because fans rarely look at things objectively, well...

Does someone who feels like a rookie state that he’s tired of being injured? Have you not noticed the difference between the old Cam and what we have today .... 180 degrees difference
