FSU - Auburn Game Thread

To be fair, Newton's delivery in college wasn't exactly what it is now.

As far as Winston, I said Leftwich, but I could see Freeman.

I will admit up front that I spent more time watching receivers this game than I did QBs (seeing as we don't need one of those) but I saw enough of Winston to think he's going to make a pretty good pro.

Winston's release looked quicker than Leftwich's almost glacial one, and he's definitely a promising prospect. But I wasn't blown away, and will definitely be curious to see how he handles less surrounding talent. Wasn't really sold on any of the receivers either, although a lot of holding and PI calls were going unflagged.

He's ALOT more mobile than Leftwich, and that dimension alone makes him a more viable pro in today's NFL.

Can't put my finger on it,  but something tells me he's going to average 4 picks a game as a pro.

He may very well be a great pro QB, but going by the eyeball test I think he's going to have to put in a lot of work. Plus, as fieryprophet noted, he looks like he has a fat body type. That he's only 19 hurts more than helps in my opinion.

I don't know, he just doesn't strike me as a success at the NFL level.

Tight up his release and all doubt go away I think.

Didn't get as much out of the game on Benjamin - other than that he's huge - as I would have liked, but is Marques Colston really all that special for much more than that?  I'd at least be good with seeing what Ricky Proehl could teach him.

Auburn had some interesting skill position guys too, though no one I'd kill to have.

I have been watching Winston all season, i can honestly say dude will be a number 1 pick when its time. U Cant base everything off one game, he has started slow in games before this season and turned it on later. He will improve his technique and his body, he has time. He will work hard to get there.

Stupid, the only thing I could think of

Winston is good but he needs serious work before entering for the pros, might take another 2 years

1 more year in The NCAA. 1 year in the pro 's .

Yeah no team at the #1 pick has that kind of patience.

If they pick him they will have to be, if he is on a bad team he will be a pick machine

HIs receivers have bailed him out of some questionable decision making

Maybe so, but there isn't great track record of success for QB's who enter the NFL with mechanics deficiencies. I don't know that you can coach those away. And he has a weird pocket presence. Very inexact, I know, but sometimes eyes see what the mind is unable to.

Again, we'll see, but sure as hell wouldn't draft him #1 over all.

He may have his deficiencies (and no doubt, he does) but I think he's a future No. 1 pick. I would take him No. 1 this year if I could. He's that good. Alot of it I think is the intangibles. I've never seen a team that had so much confidence and trust in their QB and that is a testament to his leadership. That's the problem with Geno Smith, not his physical assets. Geno is physically gifted but is a whiny little bitch and will never be a leader like the NFL QB position requires.

To much homerisms in here to havr a serious football discussion.tre mason deangleo williams? Huh... jameis to cam? Cam is a athletic marvel a rare athlete. Jameis is a precision passer who is able to pick up yards on the ground similar to andrew luck running the ball. His mechanics aren't usually that bad he was just getting pressured in the pocket. Coming out Winston is light years ahead of cam as a passer. He wins between the ears. Not to say cam can't. But im still not sure cam reads defenses exceptionally well.

Winston does this remarkably well for a freshman. People paning him need to wake up.

I want Mason because he's a younger version of Dwill.

I want Mason because he's Plug 3's kid. In fact, he should wear #3. Guess it would have to be #33.

I knew Auburn scored too fast, the real difference in the game was the successful fake punt.

Auburn wins if Mason takes a knee at the 2 or 3, makes FSU use their timeouts, then scores.

Everything broke right for Auburn (refs don't call muggings, 3 muffed punts bounce right back to them, Marshall has the game of his life, etc) and the Noles still pulled it out. Impressive, impressive win.
