  1. Past hour
  2. I don't think that's intellectually honest of the view at all... I think the people you deem are "unhappy" with stats......just stay fixated on the the big picture and to actually matter in the NFL going forward, you need more offensive production and more threatening play from the QB spot....if the goal is to be consistently relevant in the future and present a real threat to win the league on an ongoing basis. Finding our way to a random 9 win season......without the inspiration belief we are on the way to achieve what we want .....just doesn't actually mean much.
  3. Yeah the term "team friendly deal" was thrown out a lot today and to me thats the same thing. If he is not the guy getting him cheaper does do poo. If he is not the guy he is not the guy. its been 3 years and its quite literally the same result not sure what magical corner he is going to turn in year 4. We have heard it every offseason. Having to eat that dead cap in 27 potentially would kindof suck because hopefully the roster is rock solid and there may be a qb you can drop in and keep winning
  4. I'm talking about the folks that actually use the stats.
  5. Its the lesser of 2 evils. They are forced in keeping him another season because they will have to redo the qb room since they decided to keep the status quo there and its blown up in their faces. Even if they do exercise the 5th they still can trade or cut him if they must. They've eaten contacts before and they will again. Its the natue of the business. Swallowing 26 million is easier than trying to ride out 5 years @ 60 million per year.
  6. Depends on the coach, but in my opinion that's how the smart coaches operate. I don't really see Andy Reid or Sean McVay going by a stat sheet. That's probably more guys like Suleiman and Tilis than it is coaches.
  7. I think picking up the 5th is a mistake. Here is why. What if its just more of the same next year? Then you have a 26 million albatross around your neck and no real way to get out from under it. If you dont pick it up and let him play year 4 and he "balls out" (I mean come on who thinks that is going to happen) then you simply tag him and move on down the road and try to ext him. You have options. Picking up the 5th is tethering him to your team one way or another for 2 more years. I cannot think of anyone outside of lunatics like mac and bone who would be upset to simply let him play out the 4rth year a la Jones and go from there. They were even pushing back against bringing in competition for him next year. Said the team likes dalton. They want to see how the last 4 games go. I mean fug didnt we just do this last year? Why would the last 4 change anyones opinion of him?
  8. I mean...it kinda is It might not be a "substantial" portion, but we genuinely do have people who are still upset after games we've won because...stats. Kinda silly in my opinion, but...
  9. Evero is a lot like fox. He keeps hi best CB on the strong side of the offensive alignment. The defense is setup for Jackson to play the weak side and Scott to play deep. Defensive coordinators can be a rigid bunch.
  10. If a dynamic tight end like Sadiq is there, take him; otherwise we’re fine at TE. The real needs are edge rusher and linebacker, we have to improve the pass rush and the LB play is mediocre. Prioritize adding speed at the skill positions and building depth at defensive tackle, cornerback, and along the offensive line.
  11. They will tell them how many throws in a row they have missed right before they sit them out lol
  12. I think they are hoping. Mainly because they have put themselves in a position to where they are kinda stuck. They've waited a year or 2 too late to hedge their bet. Now they are left with hoping the massive investment the made eventually nets them a decent qb. I am still amazed that these professionals haven't seen the need for a plan B in the qb room.
  13. I mean, sure. But to an extent.....the bad play and stats will sort of jive up often. I do think players and coaches are aware of the stats. I'm sure a QB at some point has heard his coach throw his awful stats in his face in anger lol.
  14. Richardson liked to reward players for past performance, even if they were fading. Smart teams pat for what they're going to do, not what they already did.
  15. We'll be seeing them, playoffs or not, in about two and a half weeks. Not to mention John Fox's dumbass refusal to adjust his scheme and put Chris Gamble on Larry Fitzgerald.
  16. He was doing it last season. Its an ongoing issue that he either doesn't recognize and his staff is too timid to tell him. Or he simply DGAF.
  17. I think Tremble is the one that needs to be worried. Sanders could be on thin ice as well. I think Evans has them reevaluating to TE position. They need another Evans but bigger.
  18. That's fixable, though. He is still in just his second year.
  19. They use it to evaluate salaries and game strategies. I don't think they use it to determine who starts.
  20. He gets too caught up in his script and doesn't notice what's really going on in the game.
  21. well, I think NFL teams do use stats these days. Analytics just too big of a thing. Now, I don't think they give a rip about ESPN's QBR. but do think a good team knows what there QBs completion % is going to this area of the field vs that coverage? Yes.
