  1. Past hour
  2. I liked Hooker at UT. Also was amused that Brad Nessler would never solely say his last name. Always "HendonHooker" real quick on every dropback.
  3. I'm sure you will see him around the end of the season unless he's not showing anything in practice. He may not make it that long if he's not improving.
  4. Absolutely. It's a mix of things, and it's deserved. Which sucks because outside of their play on the field I like both. But at some point their play needs to reflect team investment. And it isn't.
  5. Canales has his own issues with his with preparation. Both his and his players. He got embarrassed against the Jags who made him look like an amateur.
  6. I don't disagree but I'd rather we at least see Hooker for a couple/few games at some point to see if maybe he's a backup in the long term.
  7. Young and Legette, justifiably, get the most blame on here. I like both, but yuck.
  8. Which is why Canales needs to be told he's canned unless he starts running the fuging ball on 2nd and 2 or 2nd and 1. Pisses me off so much to see Hubbard get 8-9 yards, then dial up a deep throw where nobody's open, Young forces it and gets sacked or picked.
  9. They don't need to do anything. There's 3 qb's on the roster and all are capable of getting us a high draft pick. There's no saving this season because the die has been cast and what will be is already in motion. Buckle up buttercup and enjoy the ride.
  10. Plenty of people were complaining about the D in various posts, too. Just it was specific players, like most of us complain specifically about BY. Wallace, Scott get plenty of blame...
  11. Its frustrating but there's only so much that can be said after week 1. Either way it seems pretty set that he'll be starting for the season so nothing really to do besides sit back and watch
  12. We are terrible enough that there is plenty of blame to go around. There's no shortage, no need to limit it to one side of the ball.
  13. Some will, some will never be no matter what. Its the nature of the world today.
  14. I never said Young. They will have to trade for someone to play that isn't Young. That or play Young again like last year.
  15. I'd elevate Hooker first and give him a couple games. Maybe Dalton for a few weeks, then move on to Hooker. Edit: your point tho is why a few of us really wanted something different at backup QB... I don't need someone to win, but how the hell did we end up keeping one of the few NFL QBs with as weak an arm as Bryce? Ugh
  16. The only reason I disagree is with a washed Dalton you're getting a different side of the same coin. They made this bed. Time to sleep in it.
  17. Give him one more game. Maybe two. If he plays similarly to how he usually does... then, start the QB carousel because you can't afford to trade mid season for anyone good but you can't just let play that bad be excused, no matter draft position. And it's not like the answer is on the roster, so we'll be losing out either way. But we will get to see if canales is the QB whisperer we dreamed of, or just another piece of fools gold. Then in the offseason you trade him for whatever you can get. Which... Won't be much. BY is cooked.
  18. Besides, if he has a good game in a week or two 1/4 of the Huddle will be back on the bandwagon anyway.
  19. I say this as a HUGE Dan Morgan fan -- but I gotta keep it a buck. He's made some good moves but if this year's draft pans out like last year's, his seat will be white-hot and justifiably so. He's made some moves I thought were great (fleecing Dallas in the Mingo trade), some I thought were stupid but ended up being pretty good (Johnson trade) and then some I was indifferent about that ended up being stupid (the entire 2024 draft).
  20. Sellers is my favorite if we're picking high enough to get a QB.
  21. Is Xavier Legette secretly Laviska Shenault? Both are 6'1" and about 220-225 pounds. Exact same arm length (31 7⁄8), hand size (9 in). During his best year in college, Legette broke out: 71 receptions, 1,255 receiving yards, 7 receiving touchdowns. In Shenaults best collegiate year, he had 86 catches for 1,011 yards and 6 receiving touchdowns, plus 5 rushing touchdowns. Controversial opinion, the Panthers should use Xavier Legette in a Laviska Shenault-style role because both are nearly identical in size and physical build, with comparable strength and versatility that make them well-suited for schemed touches, including gadget plays and even snaps out of the backfield. If it makes you feel better, you could call it the Deebo Samuel role.
  22. They will not trade Young this season. As bad as he's playing they still need him until they feel comfortable that Hooker can backup Andy. So no matter how much some fans want him off the team now it's not happening until the season is over.
  23. Absolutely. The defense was by no means good but if we had a competent offense, we give them a shot too. Good teams don't need to limit an opponent to 13 or less to have a shot at winning. Sure, it helps... But still
  24. I was talking about someone else to play this year. If Dalton goes in early then he isn't making it to the trade deadline.
  25. Dalton loves it here and so does his family. He's said so before. He'll retire a Panther.
