They are 26 million under the cap. They need 7 million for draft picks. Winston will prob count 10 for this year...so that leaves them with 9 million or so. Armstead will cost 25 million per season. They can probably get away with lowering his cap hit to around that amount for this year, but then they wouldn't be able to sign anyone else all season. They have restructured everyone they can possibly restructure. I just don't see them bringing him back.

Even Sam Darnold looked good for a few games. I just don't see Winston putting together a full season and looking like a competent starting QB. History says otherwise.

Yeah, but 2 of those 3 came against us. And he was only averaging like 150 yards per game. Very short throws, limited amount of passes. Armstead is now gone...he will surely go back to his typical ways of just chucking the ball into triple coverage while being pressured.

Strong arms, push the ball downfield, but fail to progress through reads and don't see the entire field.

Is he a starting caliber QB though? Life will be different without Armstead protecting his blindside.

Doubt he is back - he will prob wind up in either Indy or Seattle. Question is, what does Atlanta do? Do they trade for Baker? Sign Winston? Draft a QB? They don't have many options.

Not a Rhule fan. but honestly, last years team was at minimum 8 starters away from competing. That’s pretty tough for any coach. so far we have addressed 5 of those 8 positions, so yes, Rhule should show some competency this year or else
