  1. Personally I'd rather have Darnold and Fields. That way if Darnold flops we have an immediate backup plan, and all it would have cost was passing on Horn. Sure Filed could be a bust as well, but I'd like to roll the dice on him. If Horn and Fields both pan out to be very good players, then Fields is way more valuable than Horn obviously. Fit and his scouting staff have seen something in Darnold that makes him clearly the better prospect over Fields. Rhule won't talk about Fields in a negative way to explain what makes Fields a less valuable prospect, but our scouts have seen something.
  2. Rhule and Fitterer want to build on both sides of the ball and have the utmost confidence in Darnold. The thing is that Rhule and Fit have enough time to miss on a QB and still keep their jobs. If Darnold flops they won't be fired. They still have a safety net due to their long contracts and general timeline expectations. If Darnold flops, then I seriously doubt we take a long shot on another 78 passer rated QB. We won't do this again because Rhule and Fit will be running out of time to build a winner. It's Darnold wins or we start drafting 1st round QBs imo.
  3. If we're going to win any game, then it's going to be the Jets game.
  4. What will Rhule's meaningless coach speak catch phrase end up being?
  5. Teddy was probably just making a comparison between the number of times the Vikings and Saints practiced redzone plays versus the number of times per week the Panthers practiced redzone plays. We must have done it less than them, but that's not a big deal. If Teddy wanted more redzone reps then he should have said something. Matt didn't outline why we dumped Cam, and now he won't give us the skinny on why we got rid of Skinny. Not surprising, but we can guess the reasons why.
  6. 1-3 unless Darnold is really good.
  7. Short is no longer athletic enough to rush the passer. Injuries and his butt having it's own zip code make the return of KK unlikely. Even so vet min would not be the end of the world. I love depth.
  8. Tag Moton then let him go. His body is not going to hold up long term imo. Get out while he's healthy and let him break down during some other team's mega deal.
  9. I don't like to have the picks spoiled by knowing a minute before it's announced on tv. I fully accept that the public can find out a little in advance of the information coming out on tv.
  10. Here is how I live my life. If someone makes an incredible claim, then I want a lot of supporting evidence. If you tell me you bought a CMC Panthers jersey, then I'll take your word for it. If you tell me you know who the Saints are taking at #60 in advance, then you had better have a pile of evidence.
  11. Teams tell players they'll take a guy in the ____ round often. Sometimes they take him, sometimes they don't. You can't count on that. I'll use a Panthers example. Fan favorite Vernon Butler was told by the Titans that he would be their pick in the 1st. It didn't pan out.
  12. He had to slow up a little. Darnold needs to build as much chemistry as possible with the WRs as quickly as he can. The NFCS is going to be brutal this season with Atlanta adding Pitts to their other weapons, the Bucs being SB level good, and the Saints being loaded even with a QB change.
  13. He looks like he has stuffed a full sized bed pillow under his jersey. Diet time.
  14. This dude is a tank. You are not going to bull rush him. We got great value with this pick, but he needs to drop a few pounds to move better.
  15. Now I will change my tune and 100% believe this if Fitterer says that this happened. I will also fall out of my computer chair in stunned amazement, and this is a scandal.
  16. Ok now I'm going to break down what is going on here imo. The Panthers website needs to generate traffic after the draft. So a b.s story is cooked up to draw traffic to the website, and no sources need to be named. Mystery solved.
  17. Who would have specific knowledge that the Saints are going to take Marshall with the 60th pick in the draft? The war room. Who else would know outside the war room? Saints scouts? Why would a Saints scout tell a reported who they were planing to take a the 60th pick? Why would this reporter then call the Panthers specifically. Why would the Panthers then believe this reporter enough to alter their plans. The whole thing falls apart under basic logic.
  18. What??????? That doesn't make any sense. Someone from the Saints war room called us to tell tip us off on their pick? No that didn't happen. So who else outside the war room would know who they were taking? This story is VERY fishy.
  19. It depends on our pass rush, and how well our offense plays, and a lot of other factors. If our offense is mediocre or worse, then Horn is going to get destroyed. If the pass rush sucks, then Horn is toast. It's all just woven together. Assuming a good pass rush, and good offense, you should see Horn do very well.
  20. He lacks power. He can't bull rush. He's the lord of quick horizontal movement, so he's good at stuffing the run. We need a better pass rushing DT.
  21. Safety LB DT (pass rushing) LT (long term star) Center
  22. The Saints too Marshon Lattimore at 11th years ago, so I had a feeling they might want to move way up for one of the top CBs. I just underestimated how much teams were in love with Horn. The party is over for the Saints now. If they sweep us this season I don't think I'll be able to recover.
