  1. I hope he ends up in a Panther uniform. Something about this kid makes me think he's going to be a special player. Nothing great stands out about him but he's just 100% football player that won't quit.
  2. I'm not against trading back but I really can't make a prediction until after free agency. Mock drafts are fun but mostly are pure speculation. Outside of a trade we won't really know the direction of the draft until we fill some of our needs in free agency. I believe we are going to stress defense in free agency, especially the defensive line. Morgan has stated that the trenches are the foundation to a good team. We addressed the O-line last year this year we'll address the defensive line. If we can address many of our needs through free agency than our options to trade down goes up. we'll find out in 10 days when Free Agency starts.
  3. If you follow most of these mock drafts you can see the writers true colors. Strange picks and somehow a stud lands to a desperate team.
  4. Honestly I don't recall the names that were mentioned but there were a few. I'm hoping they do address the offense in the draft. My point is that IMO they will dictate how round one goes because no one really knows who they will pick. It's all speculation right now. I think by the end of March, after free agency, we will be able to get a better idea of how the draft might go.
  5. New England will define how this draft goes. They have 128 million in cap space. They could make a run at several top free agents including top tier LTs. They need to give Maye weapons and protection. If they address the offense through Free Agency our picks of Carter or Graham will be gone. If they go OT we might have a chance at one of the top defensive players.
  6. I've noticed over several years that these bowl games are pretty much late day 2 and day 3 players. I don't think it is such a bad idea to look for players that have a high motor, is tough and smart. Of course they all can't be projects but one's with dawg mentalities definitely wouldn't hurt in the later rounds.
  7. Here's my draft. We have to build up the defense with not only starters but depth.
  8. That's a true sign of a good coach. Making those halftime adjustments. We haven't had a OC that adjusted well since Dan Henning. I also think Canales got better with his play calling as time went by. It was refreshing to see misdirection and other non stardard plays.
  9. I could almost bite on this one. They say the Edge is a deep class and 42 would most likely give us a good edge player. At 57 we take BPA defensive player. However, I seriously doubt NYJ would bite unless Wilson was going to hold out and demand a trade.
  10. I get the love affair with T-Mac but there is no way we don't address the D-line until the 6th round. We can expect Brown to shoulder the D-line by himself. The only way I see us taking a WR at pick 8 is if Carter and Graham are gone. I would be less surprised if we traded down and got a couple more picks. If you do your homework, like Morgan did with Coker, you can find a WR much easier than a D-linemen throughout the draft.
  11. The best thing about these two, as long as they are together, is the offensive philosophy stays the same. Young is only going to get better and better if Canales continues to evolve as a head coach. We've seen several QBs degress when the OC/Play caller moves on to a new team. Brady had one head coach and had his system so down pat that Brady probably was thinking just like Bilichick. If we build around Young and Canales grows as a HC we might actually keep an offensive head coach longer than 2 years.
  12. You only read half of what I said. He also comes from a football family. His dad was a notable coach and he learned a lot about football. I won't argue that Brady knows the game but I believe Olsen articulates it much better than Brady. This is why Olsen is a better analysis and would be a much better coach.
  13. Brady was a great QB and quite knowledgeable but he can't articulate it as well as Olsen. Olsen comes from a football family. IMO, he knows the game much better than Brady. I know it was briefly mentioned about him coaching before we signed Canales. He's never stated he would like to coach but I think he'd be a good HC probably similar to Dan Campbell.
  14. Defense should be a priority but either draft one or get one in free agency. Trading away draft capital that might be with us for only 2 years isn't smart.
  15. Wasn't Raym a pretty good find as a UDFA. We must like his potential. Plus, what's the fuss. We have to get back to 90. Might as well sign guys we're familiar with.
  16. I don't think it is a coincidence that Young played much better behind a solid offensive line. I loved Morgan going out and getting two great guards.
  17. The offensive line is a critical position for Young's career. We can't expect him to carry the team like Cam did with an inferior line. Continuity is also important. Mays has shown he can handle the position. He's a drafted player so we had to have believed he had tools we need. I think he does. Keep Mays and continue to build the line through the draft and free agency.
  18. Zach Wilson would be an interesting free agent. Lots of tools and could learn behind Young.
  19. I did a mock draft or two and both of them had several good college QBs available in round 4. It might be worth a shot on a young quarterback that can learn DCs offense. Definitely needs to be an accurate passer.
  20. I saw where the talking heads think there will be plenty of mid to late round QBs available. I kind of like Rourke from Indiana.
  21. Andy Dalton is a free agent and getting long in the tooth. Who is your target for backup QB? Top 10 Free Agents Darnold - most likely to be re-signed by Minnesota Wilson - Will most likely be looking for a starting spot Fields - probably wants a starting gig but could be an interesting free agent Canales could work with Winston - really good or really bad Flacco - See Andy Dalton Brissett - OK backup, not much upside Rudolph - see Brissett Wentz - I'd be interested in see what Canales could do with him. Lance - wouldn't mind a third stringer under Canales to eventually be the backup. Played OK against Washington in final game. Probably will stay in Dallas DRAFT ????
  22. Obviously valid points on Morgan but I will wait another year or so before evaluating his moves. I think many of his moves were based on their ceiling than their immediate contribution. Leggett, Brooks, Wallace and Sander IMO could very well be core players after gaining some experience. I think 2025 Leggett, Wallace and Sanders are going to take big leaps in production especially now that Young seems to have some confidence. Just my take.
  23. Right now, we are competitive against most of the non-playoff teams. We're even competitive against some of the wildcard teams. If we can build this roster, get a solid defense, and add another weapon or two we could start beating the upper echelon teams. We showed, even with the worst defense in NFL history, that we hang in there with good teams. Clean up the blow-outs and this team might surprise a team or two next season.
