  1. Not many QBs coming out of college don't have that concerns. Young has the "IT" factor. He makes plays when initially the play isn't there. I get the love for him and would not be upset if we drafted him. That said, I worry about his height and his durability. He can't take shots like he did against Tennessee. NFL players will make him pay and he'll get hurt. Stroud has all the tools to be good. One thing I noticed about him was some of his passes don't have the zip they should especially on out patterns. He gets away with those throws in college, he won't in the NFL. I've seen a couple of Tennessee games but never really focused on Hooker until last Saturday. He handles the pocket well. Has all the tools to be as good as Young or Stroud. He just hasn't had the exposure, until this year, that Young and Stroud have had. If Tennessee runs the table in the SEC and reaches the SEC Championship game, he'll be right up there with Young and Stroud. Very similar to Joe Burrows climb a couple of years ago.
  2. I've said this before about PJ. He's got a active arm but couldn't hit a bull in the butt with a banjo. His accuracy is poor. Throwing downfield with PJ is like throwing a punt. Eason at least looks the part. He did ok until his Int. I feel bad for the guy because he really gave us a small spark until the Int. I would ride with Eason this weekend. He can't be any worse than PJ.
  3. @DJ feed me moore Cam was nowhere near top of the QB chart when the season started. He rose up and took the Heisman Trophy and #1 pick. Played pretty damn will considering they didn't give him a true #1 WR his entire time here. You obviously didn't see the Alabama/Tennessee game or you just have your heart set on Young or Stroud. This young man is legit. I saw him make some great throws. Didn't phase under pressure, stood in the pocket and ran only when necessary. Fug the age. 25 is still a baby. If he is a legit QB he could last 12-15 years more.
  4. I think it is insane to expect a 250-300+ pound defender who is running at full speed to have to attempt to not squish a QB when they tackle them. It's part of the game. It's one thing to do it out of frustration but it's part of the game and QBs should not be excluded from good solid tackling.
  5. Don't look now but IMO Zappe looks better than Mac Jones. He might be the best QB of the 2022 draft. This is exactly why teams need to do their homework and stop listening to the media. No one gave Zappe a look and he's looking better and better each week.
  6. Moore did not impress me at all last night. He had no answers for Philly for most of the night.
  7. After watching the game last night, I am 100% onboard with this. When Lane Johnson went out and Dallas took advantage of it in the 3rd Qtr. By the 4th quarter Steichen changed their approach and put the game away. I loved watching that. I wanted Dallas (please god don't strike me dead) to win just because I don't want any undefeated teams during the 50th anniversary of the 72 Dolphins. Steichen really showed me he can run an offense. The game plan to neutralize Parson was genius. Sign me up.
  8. Give us a chance to see if he is a viable backup later on.
  9. Green Bay is in a terrible for a WR. Right now I'd take a 2050 7th round pick for him.
  10. As the eternal optimist I hate to agree with you, but it sure is trending that way.
  11. At this point Ronald McDonald would probably be better than McAdoo.
  12. I hope he fires McAdoo tomorrow and give himself a chance with someone with a bit of creativity.
  13. I think we have to give him more than 6 days. It's kind of tough when your QB accuracy is absolutely terrible beyond 5 yards.
  14. Did you ever consider this might be the OCs call because of film study? If your opinion is this, is the only way to help a QB why doesn't everyone use it? With this type of offense, it also opens up to relying on your offensive line to protect you. Meaning the QB has to have the discipline to stand up in the pocket and make the throws. The QB has to know the routes and coverage and who is most likely to be in single coverage. There probably is more reading to do than a traditional offense. It's a weak argument but, like I said earlier I think you have a preferred QB and don't want anyone to screw it up so you nitpick his skills. He may not be a perfect QB but IMO his performance yesterday opened a lot of eyes and he'll start to be in the conversation of a 1st round QB.
  15. Ahhhh Good Ole REDZONE give you the opportunity to watch whichever game you want and see all the scores. I'm not sure if the Carolina Game is on AFN or not tonight but whichever game is on, I'll watch with Redzone on my laptop.
  16. I wish I could do the same. I can't stomach hockey unless it's the playoffs and the Hurricanes are in it. I'll watch Redzone and watch good match-ups each week.
  17. I want to see how we actually compete. If and how McAdoo adjusts the game plan according to Wilks instead of Rhule. Are they any noticeable changes offensively and defensively. Hope for a W but more interested in how well we compete.
  18. Explain this? Who's giving him help reading the defense. Who's your choice at QB? Usually when someone comes up with a statement like this, they are grasping for things to find wrong with a player so they can have the QB they want. I watched most of the game. Hooker wore out a top 3 team. 52 points against a team that is expected to compete for a National Title. It's not like he managed the game. He moved them roughly 40 yards into FG range is 16 seconds. Please continue to nitpick.
  19. @Panthers Fan 69 Your OP should have been thought out more. Did you really think that it would generate a normal conversation? You're talking about removing the Mantra that we should be doing more than ever now. What I recommend is that you let it go and move on. The only thing you are going to get out of this thread is more
  20. Rather have Hooker or another year of PJ, Baker or Sam? LOL I get the "he only plays from the shotgun" but the dude looks legit and I would think he would easily go under center. I'm not worried one bit about his age.
  21. 8-10 years is the ceiling. Many QBs go well past 35 if they play well. Brady, Brees and Rodgers just to name a few. Like someone mentioned before. I'd take 8-10 years of good QB play. Hell right now I'd take 5 good years.
  22. Hooker just improved his stock leaps and bounds. His pocket presents is amazing. I was impressed with Young too but if things go sideways and we don't get the top pick Hooker might be an option. That was an amazing game. Defense was pretty much non existent but what a game.
  23. Both of these guys are having a great game. My idea when I posted this was whether Hooker was going to stand up to a top ranked team. I would say he has passed that concern with flying colors. I think he clearly has moved himself up the board. This is a classic battle.
