Chiefs just did a cool tribute to Len Dawson, who passed away this week...Mahomes came out on first possession and the huddle lined up the way it did for Dawson back in the day.

Icky against Miles in the first game is worrisome. If BC slides out for a few games, I'm fine with that.

here's the story on being released. Don't know his current health situation, but it was a contract thing with Washington https://www.profootballrumors.com/2022/03/commanders-to-cut-landon-collins The Commanders are set to release Landon Collins (Twitter link via NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport). The two sides tried to come to terms on a pay cut, but the safety preferred to try his luck on the open market. The old regime gave Collins a six-year, $84MM deal in 2019. That pact made him the first safety in league history to crack the $14MM/year mark. Now, midway through the megadeal, the Commanders are going to bid farewell to the 28-year-old. Releasing Collins will save $6.6MM against roughly $10MM in dead money for 2022. By all accounts, the Commanders would have been happy to keep Collins — just not at his $16.1MM cap figure. To his credit, Collins was mostly healthy in 2021, appearing in 13 games as a linebacker/safety. Collins finished 2021 with 81 tackles, two interceptions, two fumble recoveries, and three sacks across 13 games. Now, he’ll look to reassert himself elsewhere when free agency opens on March 16.

I had to look for those numbers...yep, 5 penalties. And I don't know how many snaps he played, but I know he didn't play the whole game.

as bad as we view our team, can you how bad Jacksonsville was under Urban? CJ and Jaycee are two top 10 first round picks, both looking like they are going to earn their draft position, and Donte with a new contract...not to mention Henderson who we though would go in the 3rd, and couldn't pass him up in the 5th. We've never had a CB room like this and probably never will again. And they are so young. I didn't know anything about Woods, but if he is as good as that report, paired with Chinn.... also, I was going to describe these thoughts resulting in a physical state on my body, but since Ladypanther is reading these I will refrain. -
it's preseason, but every big board already out has multiple C in the 2nd next year. We don't have a 3rd next year. I'm all for DL in the first, and C in the second.

Joe Person @josephperson · 43m Matt Rhule: Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold will continue to share first-team reps during practices w/ the Patriots, which Rhule said in some ways are more important than Friday’s game. Nick Carboni @NickCarboniWCNC · 1h #Panthers HC Matt Rhule says joint practices at #Patriots will be a good evaluating tool for QBs because they’ll be thrown into a lot different types of situations. -
another example of why I don't pay much attention to PFF...here some things from the Saints board on Penning after the game "He got owned by those inside moves last night, even by 3rd string DEs. It’s hard to tell on the broadcast but I didn’t see all that nasty we’ve been hearing about." "Right now, it looks like Hurst is the definite starter at LT" "I agree. I was not impressed." they also acknowleged he did pretty good in the run game, it was his first game, and he's got a high ceiling.

before the draft I was watching a lot of Icky's highlights...there was one where pushed one guy down to the ground and started looking for someone else to block, no one near, he looked back quickly at the guy on the ground and a big good-natured laugh...I wanted him from that point on. He wasn't taunting or anything, it was just a "yes, that's how strong I am" or something like that. Can't believe we got him. He's a beast. -
Bills spent a 6th rounder on a punter. Here he is.

Some of our defensive rookies did more than just flash. Barno made plays, and the LB out of Penn State we took in the 4th is a big hitter, broke up what looked like a sure completion. The main thing I felt best about was when Baker started the game, and led us to a FG. Darnold came in and pretty much Darnolded but got us a TD. I'm no X and O guy, but I can tell you how I felt watching. Baker looked like an NFL starter. He just looked right...comfortable, confidant. I lost that feeling as soon as Sam took over. I hate it for Sam, but Baker made me feel so much better leading the team. Haven't felt that comfortable in our O since the season Cam was still healthy. -

don't mind PJ coming out when we are back up so much. Not a good place to put a rookie in his first game. If a disastor is gonna happen, let it happen to PJ. We another half to see Corral with better field position. -
