  1. I already dispelled some of the bullshit he was spewing in this post weeks ago.
  2. I would read this: https://www.profootballnetwork.com/brandon-smith-penn-state-lb-nfl-draft-scouting-report-2022/
  3. Sounds like lots of upside when he decides to give .
  4. Hell, my sophomore year in school, my last quarter I got a BID: A grade B in some journalism class, an I (incomplete) in another class I needed for my degree (so I had to retake it) and a D in econ. Why did I do so bad? Drinking and partying. What made me change? One time, you see, my friends carried me on their shoulders into the dorm like I was some king and other friends, including a couple girls put me in a tub and cleaned me up. The next day, my roommate told me that I had a problem. I told him that I only drank on Friday and Saturday. He told me that didn't matter. I reflected upon my actions, talked to a few others, and I concluded that I indeed had to change (which I did). Don't get me wrong, I still have a few occasionally to this day, but I never got anywhere near that drunk again, and it's been 35 years now. Hell, I drove drunk, ran from the police in a car, outsmarted them by parking in a parking lot, scaled a fence with barbed wire and hid in kudzu until they left. I chugged a six pack in 30 minutes, got into my friends convertible and went to the Shrimp Boat drunker than poo. This stuff is perhaps benign, but it could have had some lifelong consequences. I was just lucky, but I made it up in my mind to be more responsible and leave all the immaturity and stupidity behind, and now I'm a fine man if I do say so myself. Someone who knows me for the man I am today wouldn't guess that I used to abuse drink in college. Corral will be fine.
  5. I was just about to bring that up. I'd add that anyone trying to compare these college QBs based upon stats--especially stats alone, or stats without context--doesn't understand how to evaluate. Sure, experience, size and all that matters,but...you must look at the traits, and then try to compartmentalize and project. That's the secret sauce from what I've picked up over the years.
  6. Oh, a journalist sensationalizing to get clicks is ludicrous now? Come on, dude. At the end of the day, Corral is a Panther, what does it really profit any journalist to be bringing out old information at this point other than for a story? If some QB-needy FO passed on Corral for that, then so be it. I think they're foolish, but everyone has an opinion. Like I said, it was the smart execs who put all that within its proper context, and made the deciding factors based upon his experience, traits, size and all that. It was Kiffin's offense and Corral's size that were the real reasons for the slide, if there in fact was a slide at all. From some perspective, we can say that Corral didn't slide at all, but went where he was supposed to, especially when juxtaposed against recent drafts.
  7. That's a big leap. Rapsheet doesn't speak for the whole of the NFL. I researched this kid and have read a lot of information. I know why he slid. It was RPO, size (and durability concerns).
  8. Rapsheet isn't above spinning a story for clicks. The main reason that Corral slid is that he played in an RPO offense which in turn made him a tough analysis. Can he process information in a pro style offense...blah blah blah? By the way, I'm not excusing his Wonderlic, but he thinks he may have skipped a question, and if you do that apparently they don't count anything else after it. It's not a good litmus test anyway. Seriously. All we have to do is look at history.
  9. Nothing huge. Being an immature kid trying to get his feet up under him. This stuff is literally years old now.
  10. I was thinking the other day; whatever is included in Rhule's contract regarding control is legally binding ultimately only for the amount of money that Tepper's on the hook for, and, at the end of the day, that means little to Tepper. In other words, he could have told Rhule, "I don't give a fug what the contract says, you better take a back seat, or your ass is fired." He may not have said it in those words or in a mean manner, but he may have suggested it. For all the stories about Rhule wanting to go back to college and not caring if he's fired, I think some of those stories were taken out of context if not outright media-driven exaggerations. I think that he wants to make it work. Hiring a pro staff and fading kind of in the periphery and letting guys do what they do best is a sign of growth.
  11. Good catch. I really do believe Rhule has eaten some Humble pie. We'll never know the full story, but dynamics have definitely shifted, and it really hasn't been as subtle as the FO would like. From this to Tepper's press conference, there have been tells. Perhaps the result of another sh¡tty season, being lambasted by fans, and roasted in the media has made everyone from Tepper on down reassess who should be doing what based upon strengths, and not Rhule's arrogance and ignorance. In any event, I like how Fitterer operates.
  12. I don't even know, but if I had to guess I'd think that Corral will be the starter by some point in November. I don't believe that the FO will be rushed to give him the reins because Rhule's seat was not as hot as has been advertised. As long as we're showing gradual improvement as a team, Tepper will be patient well into 2023.
  13. I think that he was our target, and have hinted as much for weeks. And, I am also happy to say that in no way was it a "panic pick" because the FO exercised an extreme amount of patience before moving, and they moved when Corral became a value pick--when we didn't have to give up a first or second round pick to obtain him (which was what I thought that they should do the longer that he stayed on the board).
  14. I mean, that's all and good, but I've watched the game in earnest for damned near 45 years (50 if you count just as a fan), and I can say with surety that no one knows how any of these guys will do until the time comes. Waxing on about the system a kid played in while in college, however technical, is just that. We're going to have to wait and see how he develops and plays. All the discussion based on what he (or any of them) did or didn't do in college is pretty fruitless at this point.
  15. I'm not gonna lie. I only researched the top three OTs and top 5 QBs. We got my number 1 guy at each position, so the rest is just gravy. Unlike some, I like what we did on day three last year, so I'm expecting some upside at positions of need tomorrow.
  16. Some of y'all were spot on and fair. Some of y'all...well...I just don't know what you were(n't) seeing. I'm glad that things worked out. I knew we'd never draft Corral in the first with one of the top tackles on the board, but not only did we get my preference at tackle, we got my guy at QB.
  17. I'm pleased! I listened to guys go on and on about Willis and Pickett and Howell. I threw hints out here and there. I also believe I was the first to go on record as being on the Corral train. Well, here we are. Corral was the most enigmatic, and in my opinion had the actual highest upside of any QB in the draft. My only question about him was his injury concerns. He'll have to modify his game, but he is a legit gamer!
  18. I can live with that. Gotta take a swing!
