  1. In this draft, because it's so deep at WR, there will be 1st and/or borderline 1st round talent with both picks 33 and 39. Do not trade down to actual 2nd or 3rd round talent areas just to accumulate draft capital. Quality is more important than quantity. Mainly due to free agent acquisitions. For the first time in a long time, the FO has actually set the team up to take a couple of homerun swings. Don't get timid at the plate now.
  2. The Panthers would be a really good situation to put a rookie Center in. High level vet OGs and at least one probowl level tackle. They would all be learning a new offense, so there will be some growing pains there. Other than that, this would be a good time to get a young center that's ready to get significant playing time. Maybe not start day one. But should take over by game 6.
  3. I doubt any team gives the Panthers the true value of passing on a McConkey or AD Mitchell or Chop Robinson or JPJ. The draft is quality over quantity. Quantity doesn't mean jack if guys aren't contributing on games days. And if a team REALLY wanted a player enough to give up anything remotely valuable enough (to me that would be a future first/second and their current second and third), they would have drafted him with their 1st round pick. Not waited until the 2nd round. Too many WRs will be available, to a team devoid of WR talent, to start playing around with draft capital.
  4. Yeah, when he ran, Cam punished defenders. Sitting in the pocket with slow receivers, bad schemes/playcalling, and bad protection, allowed Cam to BECOME the punching bag. Dang, after seeing that written down, it's very similar to last year's situation. Biggest difference being Bryce ain't Cam.
  5. Touche. That is indeed genious. Luke was slipping then. Should have had P Diddy set a little something up for Vonn Miller before Super Bowl 50.
  6. Speed kills. Not just straight line speed. Quickness and acceleration. I'd take Ladd and Keon. And then the best Center remaining with 65. I'm ready for my Carolina Panthers to fully embrace becoming an offensive-minded football team. Let's lose every game 40 to 45 this season. Then we can cover the defensive holes next offseason. I'm tired of not being able to score double digits. Losing 9 to 3. It's friggin 2024, and that shiite is embarrassing!!!
  7. Maybe if they add picks this year, but even then - it'd be a hard sell for me. This might be the best draft in recent history for the Panthers current needs and draft picks situation. There will be starter level talent at positions of need for this team at 33, 39 and 65. Could come out of this draft with the best receiving group since Smitty, Moose and Ricky Proehl. And solidify one of the strongest olines they've ever had. And this is coming after a year when they had their worst receiving corps and olines ever. Would be such a Panthers move to screw that up just to accumulate draft capital. Capital that they'd likely screw up anyway.
  8. He's definitely a top inside LB. Lawrence Taylor (LT) was the baddest mofo I've ever seen on a football field. Maybe not as cerebral as Luke, but that F'er literally scared other alpha males! Like the Mike Tyson (with Cus) of the NFL.
  9. Brandt Tillis is a damn magician!!! He really made the cap an illusion.
  10. I think that's the Titans. But, if both their tackles are that much worse than Ickey, then they won't be able to pass at all. 9 at LT and 43 at RT. Never should have let their star RB go.
  11. I'm really starting to think Keon might be the guy. If Ladd is there, then that's a no-brainer. But Keon will likely be there at 39. He really could be the target. I just don't like Legette in the second. 3rd round? That would be a win.
  12. Burns is a very good athlete. He'll beat OTs that aren't technically sound. If he had to play Icky twice a year, he'd have an easy 5 sacks in those two games alone. He needs to become a more consistent tackler and be more under control at the point. He probably misses just as many sacks as he makes. Like gets there and then misses the tackle. Plus, once teams start running at him, he starts to lose interest in the game. If my offensive tackles were weak in pass pro, I'd run right at Burns the first 3 drives. He'll give you 5+ yards a run, easy. You can even get fancy and use a TE to kick him out. And that's if he doesn't just get too far upfield that he takes himself out of the play. Yeah, he's not worth 20M+ a year. He just isn't.
  13. Aren't TEs known to take 2-3 years to develop? Brock may be an exception, but would rather go with Tommy Tremble in a clear #1 TE role. Great blocker, improved hands, hard to bring down, and crazy as all get out! Plus he never gets injured. They need to get the oline and WRs right. Should be highest priorities on the team. And judging by FA, it is.
  14. Yep. Your defense ain't winning games in 2024. Creating rules every year to make it harder to play defense - hence the hip drop rule this year. If you can't put up points, you can't win in today's NFL.
  15. I think Burton is about 5 spots too high. I'd swap Roman and Troy. Other than those, I can get with this.
  16. I have been watching some Bucs games, and I do think Canales' run game is better suited for a Chuba than it is for White. Chuba is gonna eat. I hope he is featured over Sanders this season, as he better fits the scheme.
  17. Very true. Let's just hope the upgrades at oline and WR help him be able to to do that more effectively. Felt like nothing was easy last year and he started to hesitate more and more. He has to get out of his head and just play ball.
  18. Legette probably needs two or three seasons before we see something closer to his final form. There are others that will contribute a lot sooner.
  19. Bryce's strengths and weaknesses will likely dictate that pick. I don't agree with that approach though. Take the best prospect that will contribute early and often. Particularly that 33rd pick. It should be treated as a late first rounder in terms of contribution.
  20. No, I don't think I watched their game. I'll take a look later. So Tyreek had an MVP talk season with a weak armed QB? He's better than I thought. I guess stats don't always tell the story.
  21. If this is even remotely true, Bryce will have no excuses. The Panthers should win 10 games and at least make a wild card appearance. Anything less, then he ain't the guy.
  22. Tua was the #5 pick in the draft. 2nd QB in a draft that included Joe Burrow, Justing Herbert, Jordan Love and Jalen Hurts. Tua had all the tangibles coming out of college. Miami got the crap beat out of him early on and he's just now starting to figure the NFL out. But Tua is no scrub - at least not coming out of college.
  23. Yeah, never thought he had high end velocity on his throws. That definitely is not his game. Average velocity, with high end ability to throw at different angles. And Bryce does lose velocity with those awkward throws. Mahomes can throw with velocity at all angles. He's just a freak.
  24. I honestly don't get the "weak arm" point. I wouldn't compare his arm to prime Cam Newton or Josh Allen, but I'd say it's comparable to Drew Brees or Tua. Not elite, but more than good enough. I don't know if he has the lift to throw the ball late on a go-route or a fade going away from him on the other side of the field. But he can complete a first or second option deep route based on arm strength. He wouldn't have won a Heisman playing in the SEC if he couldn't do that. Not as a passing QB.
  25. How many passes over 35 yards are thrown a game? How many are completed? I feel like taking the shots are as important as hitting them, to keep the defense honest. The first step is to take more shots and calling plays/schemes that make them early reads in the progression.
