Roll Call…. T minus 5 days, who’s representing in person?
Wundrbread33 replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
People shitting on BBQ from different places always made me laugh. It’s just like anywhere else. There are phenomenal places there. There are phenomenal places here too. But excellence is hard. Excellence is rare. So you have to know where to go. Most BBQ places, painters, mechanics, doctors, teachers, QB prospects…suck. If you stumble on excellence; that’s rare, so enjoy it. -
Roll Call…. T minus 5 days, who’s representing in person?

That will be a blast. I have family over there. Enjoy some KC BBQ (Kansas City Joe’s). If there’s anything the Midwest people do well, its finding the best way to cook livestock. You road tripping or flying? -
Steve Smith interview with Bryce Young
Wundrbread33 replied to backINblack28's topic in Carolina Panthers
Meh I probably should just take a break from the internets until the draft. I like discussing football but it’s so redundant at the moment. -
Steve Smith interview with Bryce Young
Wundrbread33 replied to backINblack28's topic in Carolina Panthers
Acting like it means nothing is not what I’m talking about. People writing paragraphs about his size concerns like it’s a novel observation is what I’m talking about. Like no poo. EVERYONE KNOWS. ”He’ll be small a year from now.” EVERYONE KNOWS. ”Durability concerns…” EVERYBODY KNOWS. That’s all I’m saying. -
Steve Smith interview with Bryce Young

I don’t understand why people keep talking about Bryce being small at this point. EVERYONE KNOWS. “He might get hurt…” EVERYONE KNOWS ”Smallest ever QB” EVERY. PERSON. KNOWS. -
The Whole "SEC" Argument is So Badly Flawed

At this point, why not just agree to disagree and move on? Stick with you assumption, but allow others to have their assumptions too, and let’s just see how it plays out. -
The Whole "SEC" Argument is So Badly Flawed
Wundrbread33 replied to tukafan21's topic in Carolina Panthers
Small guy get hit harder by big guy mean small guy more likely hurt. Historical data has been provided that suggests the opposite. You criticize others for assuming he won’t get hurt, but you are doing the same in the other direction; assuming he will get hurt. -
The Whole "SEC" Argument is So Badly Flawed
Wundrbread33 replied to tukafan21's topic in Carolina Panthers
Since there isn’t a fair comparison of him in NFL history, your statement that he “will more that likely have injury issues” is an assumption. -
The Whole "SEC" Argument is So Badly Flawed
Wundrbread33 replied to tukafan21's topic in Carolina Panthers
Sounds like I fully understand. What you are saying isn’t complex. Being healthy in the SEC does not guarantee he is healthy in the NFL. Either your issue is people comparing the SEC to the NFL (in your case, regarding health) or people talking with certainty (absolutes) that he will stay healthy, when absolutes simply don’t exist. Is this what you mean? -
The Whole "SEC" Argument is So Badly Flawed
Wundrbread33 replied to tukafan21's topic in Carolina Panthers
So essentially what you are saying is that the SEC isn’t the NFL, right? As in, he may have been relatively healthy in the SEC, but it’s still not the NFL. The NFL is a different beast. If so, that argument can be made for anything done in the SEC. Football skill included. “A player played well in the SEC, but the NFL is a different level.” ”A player stayed healthy in the SEC, but the NFL is…” ”A QB had a lot of rushing yards in the SEC, but the NFL is…” At the end of the day, the SEC isn’t the NFL, but it’s the closest to the NFL regarding the talent level. It’s the big boy college conference. Young may get hurt. It may be because he’s small (which will be the default explanation) but it may not be because of his size at all. Take Corral’s lis franc, and Cam’s lis franc. That is a season ender, and it has nothing to do with size. It’s more of a result of the cleat being planted, while being twisted down to the ground. poo happens. I’m not worried about it until I have to be. -
People assuming Cam wouldn’t be a good mentor or coach? I think he would be, but I think his personality would be perfect to coach high school/college age young men. He’s mentally strong, a great motivator, hard worker; natural leader.

Long & Rangy- The Panthers Prototype?
Wundrbread33 replied to Bear Hands's topic in Carolina Panthers
This makes me think of the ridiculous raw athleticism that Brandon Smith has. I’m excited for this staff to work with him. -
It’s gonna be okay Rip. Young has been told he’s too small his whole life and he just keeps his head down and works; proving people wrong. He might not work out of course, but he has a better chance than you give him credit for imo. But we have Corral too who you and I both like. If Young doesn’t work out, we aren’t dead in the water at all. We have not 1 but 2 lotto tickets to fix QB.
-
…and I still would have been excited as long as McAdoodoo wasn’t retained. Wilks was that transition manager who cracks skulls and hits the reset button after the last guy fuged everything up. That being said I love where we are at. But nothing but love for coach Wilks.

CJ Henderson and Keith Taylor in Evero’s defense
Wundrbread33 replied to Wundrbread33's topic in Carolina Panthers
Some good stuff in this thread. Gonna check out some corners on YouTube tonight. I’d love to add a corner as this class seems deep, as this should be a make or break camp for CJ and Taylor. Maybe I’m sleeping on STO3 as well. -
To those who are familiar with the way Evero’s defense was is Denver, how do you see the fit of these two, and do you see any taking a jump? If we don’t go WR or TE at 39 (based on signings) and elect to go defense, I’d prefer edge, but Jackson is hurt every year, Horn had also been unlucky, and we need more cover guys with starter potential. So how strongly should we look at corner at 39, and if we don’t, how careless would it be relying on the projection of Henderson and/or Taylor stepping their game up under this new staff?

People really love joining a team. That being said fug the Falcons.

I’d trade up for the right edge but that may be it. I think we will have plenty of options that entice at 39.
