He had one offer to play QB from Utah. Went to an elite QB camp. Trent Dilfer tapped him and gave him the gold ticket to go to the finals camp where he got a flood of offers - USC was not one. He was considering playing QB for Duke, but really wanted to be the USC QB. Pushed USC to recruit him as QB. USC offered him to play OLB and Darnold declined. Had his HS coach send highlights of his athletic ability with basketball, and then received an offer from USC to play QB. We have Trent Dilfer, Matt Leinhart, Jordan Palmer, and Mark Sanchez to thank. They have been working with and pumping up Sam Darnold for years.

Darnold's #1 football goal was to be the starting QB for USC. He has achieved his goal. He has no desire for a Super Bowl. Cashing checks and thinking about the beach like his coach.

Don't think it's happening. I am of the opinion Dolphins' owner Stephen Ross is wrapped up in all of this knotted up mess in the NFL and college football. I believe Stephen Ross wanted Deshaun Watson and a high round draft pick at the cost of Brain Flores' career. Ross wants Harbaugh to stay in Michigan. Harbaugh is stubborn and wants to be in Miami, so he forces Ross's hand by leveraging the Vikings. Ross won't want to lose Harbaugh. So, as the largest Michigan booster, Ross is setting up Rhule to go to Michigan if he can't convince Harbaugh to stay. If Ross cannot convince Harbaugh, then he will bring in Harbaugh as the Miami coach. Ross will pair Harbaugh and Watson together in Miami, but first Ross has to pay off all 21 women suing Watson. Watson won't be a Panther, Harbuagh will be a Dolphin, and Rhule will be a Wolverine once Ross gets his mess sorted out. There is always a chance the NFL chooses to force Ross out of the NFL ala RIchardson. In that case, Watson will be tied up for another year in court, Rhule will remain a Panther, and Harbaugh will stay with Michigan for another season. As the NFL Turns. Stay tuned.

When you need to find an answer to beat the Bengals, putting Joe Brady on staff makes sense. As for Ken Dorsey, he developed Cam into a playoff QB and MVP. Then he developed Josh Allen. McDermott and Beane know what they're doing. The Panthers letting the real coaching/management talent slip away while holding onto the mistakes has been the problem.

Thanks for the video/posts! Seeing underthrown balls by Ridder, Strong, and Pickett. Carson Strong looked like Carson Struggle. Howell gets a write up about being the best and consistent. Video shows him missing badly on a 5 yard hitch. Willis throws a deep fade and his receiver has to redirect 5 yards into the field. Where are these great throws? I'm seeing receivers having to deal with a lot of poo throws from these QBs. Didn't see one receiver hit in stride. They all had to adjust to the passes. I want to see good throws, and these QBs should have been in training with pros and getting better than what they were during the season. Show me video of them wowing. I want a 10 year franchise QB. Not another Sam Darnold. I saw a lot of disappointment and players I don't want on the Panthers. Plus to receivers adjusting on those throws. Can't really assess them with those poor throws. A couple receivers were good with release and seperation. I was impressed by a couple DBs. A lot of improvement needed by game time. Media wanting to write copy and ship it. Sensationalizing their reports. Need to see championship quality if you want to go in the first round.

The 1997 draft. All that talk about Jim Druckenmiller and Jake Plummer. And the best QB in that draft was Jake. Jake Delhomme. Undrafted.

Pickett has an amazing pass over the middle and to the right of the field. His double jointed fingers allow him more grip and spin on the ball. His pass to the left sideline has more wobble, float, and is typically underthrown. When he throws downfield on the left sideline Pitt rolled him out to the sideline and then had him square up his shoulders. Defenses would just pressure him from the right side forcing him to throw left. When he went left he would run most of the time and not go through progressions. His INTs are mainly when he throws left. Then there is the fumble issue when he gets hit, and the way he has to slam the ball into his hand when he pulls his throw down. You can hear him smack the ball. Has no grip to pull the ball down with one hand. A team is getting a good QB for 2/3rds of the field. So, the offense will have 1/3rd of their playbook limited with Pickett under center. The CB he faces on his left side can take the day off and safeties can swing coverage to Pickett's right. I'm not expecting him to throw down the left sideline at all in the Senior Bowl.

He's also been compared to an athletic version of Phillip Rivers.
