And it’s not always about the right read. It’s about knowing you can make the throw and execute. He legitimately has to improve his arm strength or he will bust .

That’s part of his problem. He’s so used structure and planning for what’s supposed to happen that NFL defenses are taking advantage of it. Wilks straight up earned the job and was one JC Horn game away from the playoffs. We could have kept last years running game, taken AR at 3, still have DJ Moore and have a winning season right now. Tepper thinks he has some kind of divine instinct that he knows better and it’s ruining this team.

No that one is on Bryce. He was making that same throw all game and was getting predictable. It was also tight coverage and the only way that throw should have been attempted was to throw it over top of Mingo where it couldn’t be cut off.

The only way Bryce can work out is if he gains another 15lbs of muscle and translates that into arm strength. I haven’t seen one lazer all season. His physical skillset doesn’t allow him to cheat any kind of looks. It has to be open or he won’t throw because he doesn’t have the arm to force anything. He has the anticipation but not the arm strength.

It was Tepper being an idiot thinking he had some kind of genius inspiration.

1. Cam easily 2. Steve Beuerlien 3. Matt Moore 4. Jake Delhomme 5. Sam Darnold 6. Kyle Allen 7. PJ Walker I know putting Moore over Jake will rub people the wrong way but he was outplaying Delhomme in the 07 season when he got his first bit of action. Jake was lightening in a bottle and had an incredible connection with Smith. But he had his flaws that his arm let him get away with until Tommy John. Moore was a story of a what if player. Had he been given a longer leash or drafted higher so he could develop he could have been a solid starter for a number of years. He had the right tools but John Fox was too loyal to Jake and emotional rah rah guys.

No way can we give up on him. He's improved the last few weeks and was a stud last year.

I think he’s probably pretty smart but part of his problem is that defenses study the game at a higher level in the NFL. They know who is supposed to be open based on their coverage as well and I think they try to bait Bryce into mistakes .

Also just to add. Maybe this is proof that maybe football isn’t that complicated? I mean the same ignorant arguments against Stroud could be extrapolated to the Cam days when they would hate on his completion percentage or his “cerebral” abilities. Well I’m here to tell you a stat padder who throws screens all day with 70% completion rate isn’t better than someone who can consistently win 3rd and long with the game on the line. That’s what Cam did, that’s what Stroud can do.

I do think about it. It just speaks to Teppers personality and that he somehow knows better or has to go against the grain to prove something. In order for Bryce to be worth the trade he has to be THE statical outlier for his size . He has to be a borderline HOF. All he had to do was let Frank take Stroud. Or resign Wilks and let him take Stroud and keep our run first /deep shot philosophy. Something that the roster was built to do. But he has to be a meddle and an idiot. None of that is Bryce’s fault btw.

2010 with Moore would stomp on us. Clausen no. The game might end 0-0 tie.
