  1. Surprised I have not seen anyone mention this. Netflix film produced by Peyton Manning. "Quarterback follows three QBs — the Kansas City Chiefs' Patrick Mahomes, the Minnesota Vikings' Kirk Cousins, and the Atlanta Falcons' Marcus Mariota — as they progress through the 2022 NFL season." Interesting close up look. I watched it over the weekend. I was impressed by the amount and type of extra training Mahomes does. Kind of insane. His success is no accident. Hope our young QBs...Bryce and Matt watch that. Felt bad for Mariota. Seems like a nice guy.
  2. I think you are off the mark with this discussion. ^ The reason to care about a player's salary is because of the salary cap and the need to have as many good players on the team as you can. Managing that is the important thing. Got to pay your stars but also need good players around them. I think an issue was made of something that is not really an issue. Please move on.
  3. Likely most people here have been hearing/reading these rumors: According to the Boston Globe, via JPA Football on Twitter, 2023 is a make-or-break season for Belichick. There are people within his inner circle concerned about his job security as tension grows between him and owner Robert Kraft. Just as with Brady, a time will come in which it is appropriate to move on from Belichick. A third losing season in four years would cost plenty of head coaches their job; if you add in tensions with the owner, their chances of surviving are even slimmer. https://www.yardbarker.com/nfl/articles/patriots_may_be_considering_drastic_move_regarding_bill_belichick/s1_17150_39019914 Also: ........Adding to the continued narrative regarding the alleged deteriorating relationship between head coach Bill Belichick and team owner Robert Kraft, The Boston Globe's Ben Volin had much to say about the viral image. But then he began down the rabbit hole of why [Mac] Jones would be invited to an event at Kraft's so early on in his NFL career, especially after a mediocre season and his alleged strained relationship with Belichick. .....But Jones? Already getting the invite to the Hamptons after two mediocre seasons with the Patriots?" The relationship between the head coach and quarterback has been widely scrutinized over the last year, with many rumors suggesting that Belichick never wanted to draft Jones in the first place, which created a lot of tension between him and Kraft. It would explain why there appeared to be continued conflict throughout the 2022 season between Belichick and Jones, on and off the field, and why the coach has seemingly refused to name him the starting quarterback on multiple occasions in recent months. Volin believes Jones' invite to Kraft's party could indicate the current state of his relationship with Belichick, as he knows more than anyone how he feels about the third-year player continuing as the QB1. We know the Kraft's have stood by Jones throughout the last two seasons, with a lot of their support coming from his highly critiqued performance in 2022. But we also know that Belichick hasn't shown nearly the same support, making most believe even more they're not all on the same page. https://musketfire.com/posts/alleged-turmoil-between-patriots-bill-belichick-and-robert-kraft-just-got-worse Looks like it might be Bill O'Brien's job to save Belichick's job. What BB did with the offensive coaching staff last year was insane.
  4. He is "super grateful to be here." With all the Panthers have invested, this is nothing. Just got to play the game. It will get done.
  5. Love it! Was laughing with that clip of Keyshawn saying..."my kicker should not be bigger than my QB." It's a new day.
  6. Not worried about that because: 1) Have you heard? Bryce is super smart 2) He knows he is a little feller.
  7. Yea...but he has to get to #2 1st. In that position, with a 17 game season...odds are he will get a chance to play. If he shows he can be the guy he will get a chance and the Panthers will get some good compensation. Win win.
  8. Thanks for the update. This is a lucky kitty.
  9. I had a vet once that recommended valerian root. It is natural and has no side effects. It is in drug stores for people and is cheap and worth a try. Will not work for all dogs but does for some. This vet used to practice in Florida so he had plenty of experience. Have to give it every day during storm season.. helps the dog handle stress...will not be drugged or groggy. You can research online for the dosage for the weight of your dog. Like I said...cheap and nothing to loose. Can buy at Walmart in the vitamin section. Good luck...hope it helps your dog. Hard to watch them be so scared.
  10. I believe Corral is in a good place now. The staff will work with him and I am betting they hope he can be the #2 at some point...prob soon. If he does well, there will be opportunities. I think this staff can and will develop players on both sides of the ball.
  11. As a "screw you" to Richardson I could just imagine Foxy telling Hurney..."draft whoever you want."
  12. lol...it is a healthy snack thing...bean based (chickpeas) and spiced up (different flavors). Good alternative to traditional dips and spreads. Comes from the Middle East. Has become popular here. I think it is good. Can make it yourself or find it in the grocery store. My guess is that Razor is making quite the sacrifice.
  13. Played hurt in the Michigan game. With a week or two left before we went to Michigan, we started facing injuries. I got hurt. ..... And the week before the game I wasn’t able to practice at all because of a sprained AC joint in my throwing shoulder. ....on the first drive coming out of halftime, I got sacked and was thrown directly on my hurt shoulder. I think it was a cracked bone. But adrenaline was still rushing, and I managed to finish the game. 14. I agree @Sgt Schultz It is interesting that there is a bit of a repeating theme. At best, sounds like Gettleman sucked at releasing players. Not a people person.
  15. Sounds like little was done to develop him. Foxy had 1 foot out the door when Edwards was drafted (2010). He (Foxy) acted like he didn't give a sh#t so not surprised about that. Rivera not an offensive guy and was a little in over his head. Edwards landed at the wrong place at the wrong time.
  16. Featured on Scott Fowler "Legends of the Carolinas". Interesting comments about his time with the Panthers. The reason he says that Gettleman gave him for cutting him brings back memories of another player. Here's what he said about his time as a Panther: SF: Marty Hurney, then the Panthers’ GM, would make you a third-round pick in the 2010 NFL draft, trading away a future second-round pick to do so. And then the team immediately switched you to wide receiver. Do you think you should have stayed a QB in the NFL? AE: Of course. From age 6 until my NFL career, I always played quarterback. It was second nature to me. I loved it. But at the time, (the Panthers thought) prototypical quarterback size was needed........... But at the same time I was told… I would get some opportunities to do some Wildcat (formation, where Edwards could line up at QB for a series of plays from the shotgun). Not once or twice a year; some actual packages for games. And that never happened. So that was a hard time for me. SF: You played for the Panthers for most of four years, from 2010-2013, never scoring a touchdown after accounting for 139 of them at App State. How do you characterize that experience overall? AE: That was the darkest time in my football career, at Carolina…. At the beginning, a guy that I looked up to on the team who knows a lot of the ins and outs — he told me the only reason they brought me in was to sell tickets because I’m from App. And I didn’t understand it at the time. It went over my head. But as the season goes on, I’m not even getting the opportunity to play and we’re losing. You’re starting to see it. You start to hear that the coach (John Fox) didn’t even want to draft you…. I felt like I wasn’t getting the help I needed to be a returner, let alone learn how to play receiver…. It was a lot of hardships. A lot of dark times. Once Coach (Ron) Rivera got there (in 2011), he felt genuine. I liked him… He tried to really look out for me…. I got my opportunity to play punt returner, but I’m not getting (enough) practice, so I’m not really getting anywhere… No disrespect to the receiver coaches, but they didn’t help me. They really just went and coached the guys they knew were going to play… The first time I started getting help was when Ricky Proehl got here as the assistant receivers coach. He actually took his time outside of practice, and in practice, to actually help me. SF: What happened when you got cut from the Panthers in 2013? AE: I really started feeling comfortable then, in my fourth year. Coach Rivera deemed me the most improved player in camp. He was excited…. Cam Newton started calling me the “Silent Assassin,” because he along with the coaches was seeing a massive improvement from my third year to my fourth year. But then I got hurt — a hamstring problem. So I didn’t get to play in the final preseason game… We had a new GM (Dave Gettleman) that year…. It (Edwards’ release) was 100% his decision. I didn’t handle it well, for the simple fact I was given for the release. I was looking for the straight-up answer. If you tell me, “Hey, you’re not panning out to what we expected. We want to give other guys a try” — I can handle that. But during this time, my aunt passed during (training) camp. She was like the head of our family. She held the pieces together…. She was the closest sister at that time to my Mom. So that was devastating for her. So I’m not practicing, and I asked if I could go to the funeral. They let me go. I come back. I’m still not practicing (due to the hamstring). And I’m easing myself in (to practice)…. They were literally drawing up plays for me.... The reason (for being released) that I got from Gettleman is that I was never the same after my aunt died. That’s what he told me to my face.... So that left a sour taste in my mouth. https://www.charlotteobserver.com/sports/sports-legends/article273732900.html Takeaways-poor player development. Draft a QB you traded up for to turn him into a receiver and then do little or nothing to help him learn the new position. Complete was of a draft pick. -Is Gettleman a jerk?
  17. You criticized his work ethic, his integrity, and his religious faith without providing evidence that any of those things are indeed compromised. Disparaging comments like that are reckless and slanderous. Do you prefer those adjectives?
