As of today, the team leads the league in PK% at 85.6%. Still 3rd in PP% at 26.5% for a combined special teams % of 112.1. Anything over 110 is generally considered elite. 112.1 is obviously the highest rated net special teams % in the league. This team is going to be a tough out in the playoffs.

We need to give them time to gel. It’s going to take some time for Kuz and Guentzel to acclimate to our dump-‘n-chase system and the rest of the team to be comfortable on a line with them as they learn their tendencies and build chemistry. Also, lines could look much different and more productive a few weeks from now.

No, probably not at this point. Sucks, because you can see the player KK can potentially be. I’m just optimistic on Kuz. He has a lot of proving to do.

Scratching KK? That’s a lot of pressure on Kuz. He’s looked pretty bad this year. It’s definitely a reclamation project.

Good. Needs to earn his worth and build chemistry with the 15 different line combinations he will inevitably be on.

Didn’t Rod and Kuz have great things to say about each other at the ASG a few years back? I remember Kiz being very receptive and enjoying Rod’s style as a coach. Small sample size.

I’m especially annoyed by the loss because it was the first live game I’ve gotten to watch this season. Spent all day yesterday making a delicate meal and drinks to celebrate the occasion.
