  1. What I was saying was in reference to Simms not Stroud. A lot of these experts fall in love with combines and completely forget about playing the game. Guys like John Ross come to mind. Ran a super fast 40, drafted top 10, then virtually disappeared.
  2. He could be better with an offensive playbook that wasn't stolen from a high school coaches office.
  3. It shouldn't matter if Corral really develops. Would just allow us to do what the Pats did with Jimmy G if we wanted to.
  4. Trade down to 4, get Indys first, 2025 2nd, and Michael Pittman. Still draft Will Levis.
  5. Make sure to ask Roger why he let our last franchise QB be targeted repeatedly.
  6. See what he's got in TC. There's no need to trade or cut him yet. He got 3 or 4 snaps in practice and then broke his foot. At worst, he's a camp cut. At best, he can also be developed and then traded like the Patriots did with Jimmy G.
  7. I get that. Game tape shows what he can do under pressure when it really matters and fractions of a second. The combine is where people fall in love with 40s and arm strength and forget about actually playing the game.
  8. Game tape means more than the underwear Olympics. We've seen plenty of combine winners that turned into NFL duds.
  9. The Darnold price tag was because Rhule was a fuging idiot. You can't go into negotiations desperate and he had already played his hand with T2G. We got taken because the Jets knew we were going to have to pay for someone because we had no one.
  10. Would make sense to do the trade before Pro days if that's what they may try to do.
  11. Bears MB saying that we were trying to offer 3 1sts but they wanted Moore. Not sure how much of that is true.
  12. If we could do it and still end up with the QB we want, Fitts would be a draft day god.
  13. Trade down to 4 with Indy, get their 24 1st, 25 2nd and add Michael Pittman. Still get Will Levis.
  14. If we wanted to guarantee the tank we should have never fired Rhule. Sure the season would have been miserable, but we'd still have the 1st pick and probably 3 comps because the league felt sorry for the fans for not being OOU.
  15. Walterfootball gave us an A+ on the trade. We're fugged.
  16. I liked the trade until I saw DJ. TMJ is our #1 right now.
  17. I get what you're saying. I was just pointing out stats can be deceiving and you need to actually look at the game to get the entire picture. Still don't want him as my starting QB though.
  18. Yeah. With that salary cap hit you knew it was coming. Hell, they didn't even give him a playbook until Lance got hurt.
  19. Not a defense of Darnold at all, but stats are deceiving. T2G has a higher career completion % than Cam. Which one is the better QB? You have to look at the whole body of work. His decision making got better at the end of the year. He did what he was asked to do. Do I want him as my starting QB? Nope.
  20. It's easy to say gamble when it's not your career on the line. That's why we have to evaluate so thoroughly. If they do all that evaluation and feel one of these guys is head and shoulders above the rest and is worth it, then by all means go for it. If there's 3 that they feel are all about the same, you have to reevaluate that willingness to trade to 1. If Fitts trades up and this QB busts, he's likely out of a job. I'm sure that's playing back there in his mind somewhere in all of this. I really want to develop our own QB. But if there's anything all these trade up for top QBs has taught us, it's that it's not about getting the first one, it's about getting the right one. For the first time, I actually have confidence we can draft AND develop a QB.
