  1. My dream draft. Trade back from 1 to 2, aquire 24 1st and 65. Trade back from 2 to 4, get future 1st and 35. Draft AR at 4, Hyatt at 35, Campbell or Ojulari at 39. Next year target Harrison Jr, Williams or Maye, or trade away for a buttload of future 1sts. I want AR over Young though. My expected draft, Young at 1.
  2. It all depends on the offer. If we really don't have a preference and could end up getting their 24 1st, we would have moved from 9 to 2 for Moore and 2 2nds. They would have to add a 3rd and a 5th to that, but I'd still be ok with it. If Young is the pick and does end up getting hurt, that future 1st is going to be really high and we could end up with the option of a better QB prospect or trade out for a boatload of picks. Having multiple options isn't a bad thing.
  3. One thing to consider in what's the difference is the pipeline of buyers an agent selling for 700k vs 350k has and who they are in negotiations with. There's also their experience in contracts. My wife is an agent and there are plenty of sneaky things that agents will add into the paperwork that unless you know they're there can end up costing you 10s of 1000's of dollars. A good listing agent won't even list your house until it's ready to maximize every penny for you and that involves time if done right. I don't look at it as what's the difference in the commission, I ask what's the agent bringing to the table to maximize my profit. You should know that before you ever sign an agency agreement.
  4. This was off ESPN's draft sim. Did a couple of trades to start off. I prefer AR over Young so that's why I traded out. Sent 1 and 39 to Texans for 2, 33, and 65 and 73. Then sent 2 to Indy for 4, 35 and a future 24' 1st. Don't think the board would fall like this at all but I'd be happy as hell with it. 4 Anthony Richardson QB 33 Will McDonald IV DE 35 Julius Brents CB 65 Jack Campbell ILB 73 BJ Ojulari OLB 93 Siaki Ika DT 114 JiAyir Brown S 132 Ricky Stromberg C/G 145 Zack Kuntz TE
  5. I don't know that he needs game experience as much as he needs time to adjust to the complexities of an NFL offense and the speed of the players. He's never played with this level of talent. Depending on how fast he picks it up, maybe insert him by game 8 to 10. If he ends up having a successful 12-15 year career, will anyone care he sat out most of his rookie year?
  6. So you're saying we move from 1 to 2 to 4? What would the trade compensation be?
  7. Accepted it, yes. Excited, meh. I think we have the coaching staff with the right experience to actually develop a QB. While he might not be ready right away, I think with a staff like this, you have to take a shot on AR. He could be something special. That's not saying Young won't be good, I just think his ceiling is lower.
  8. That's what made JaMarcus Russell one of the biggest busts in NFL history. It wasn't just the pick. That was the equivalent to signing Jimmy Pickles to a 70m contract.
  9. One way to do it could be to set a limit on the amount of cap space dedicated to a particular area of the team. Say 55% offense, 40% defense and 5% special teams. Teams could still throw whatever number they wanted at a particular player, but they would have to allocate it from that % block.
  10. There really should be an out for injury retirement like Luke had. That's not anyone's fault, it's just part of the game. There should be something to at least offset part of that cap hit because you've lost a player to something beyond either party's control.
  11. I always worry about our QB getting sandwiched between 2 guys in their mid 200's running at full speed, doesn't matter who it is. That's why I'm a firm believer you need to invest at least 1 pick in your oline every year, and 2 if you have an extra.
  12. What if he makes the ProBowl, for the Texans? Don't worry. AR will be too busy prepping for the SB.
  13. Young has all the talent in the world. The only question is how is he going to hold up in the NFL at that size. Sure he can try and shrug tackles and hits over the course of 17 and hopefully the post season. Being concerned about that doesn't make you a hater.
  14. Somewhere in one of the infinite parallel universes the Panthers are 9 time in a row defending SB Champs. I like to think we're those guys.
  15. Maybe, maybe not. Their OL was atrocious last year. Grabbing an OT at 7 if they can get the Raiders to move up, or another team if it's not to far a fall, might not be a bad idea. Raimman wasn't good last year. They need help at RG. Add a WR or TE depending on who's available, get the offense setup ready, and insert rookie QB. Could be a good way to optimize rookie contract value and get into playoff contention in a hurry.
  16. No matter who we pick, I hope we take the most time possible to get it in. Though I do expect a cutaway right as it's being announced, you know because, Panthers.
  17. Might be time to think about trading for Evans in my FF dynasty leagues. Definitely a buy low candidate now.
  18. Maybe. I think the only catastrophic meltdown would be if it was Levis. AR as a prospect is very intriguing. He obviously doesn't have the experience that CJ or BY have, but he does have the physical tools and his ceiling is higher. That said, it all depends on if he can be developed or not. I'm of the opinion that we take the best prospect and develop him. If that's CJ, BY, or AR, that should be the pick. What they can do now is less important to me than what they can become later.
  19. Nah man. It was all in jest and good fun.
  20. Probably because Ron always finds a way to squeak out a win when it matters the least.
  21. Can't see Ryans letting that culture in the building. Doesn't strike me as that kind of guy. They could roll with Davis Mills and see what happens, but I don't think anyone is beating Tampa to the suck bowl this year.
  22. Could be rolling with Davis Mills and playing for the top pick next year. 4 QBs in the top 10 not looking likely.
  23. The problem for arguing AR at 1 is he needs time to develop and this is a win now league. All 4 of these QBs have some kind of issue. Since that's the case, I'd rather go highest ceiling, but I get why we won't.
