  1. We need to extend DJ ASAP, especially if we are going to draft a QB who can chuck the ball or somehow get Watson if he's cleared (unlikely). Moore would easily put up 1500+ yards with a more aggressive QB, need to lock him up before his stats warrant being the highest paid WR in the league at the time of his contract.
  2. If you have an absurdly good roster or absurdly good coach then game manager will do just fine, but a gunslinger who doesn't turn the ball over too much would always be better if you ask me.
  3. Chinn will be the QB of our D
  4. I was going to make a thread quoting a recent PFF article, but it fits in here too so I'll just put it here... https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2021/03/29/kyle-shanahan-on-scouting-mac-jones-you-dont-have-to-hide-as-much-drafting-third/ This is so blatantly obvious to me that they're taking Jones, based on how he answered the questions. With system fits, it's gotta be Lawrence, Wilson and Jones as their top 3, with the first 2 almost certain to be gone.
  5. Cam would likely be a hall of famer even if he retired after 2019 due to injuries, his peak was that impressive and his rushing stats and overall impact on the field when he was healthy here were historic. When you have a hall of fame QB on your team who was 1st overall pick, essentially singlehandedly changed the outlook of the franchise from day 1 and was the face of the franchise for nearly a decade, that deserves getting a number retired.
  6. Really tough loss yesterday but it's impressive that we were that close against the 2nd best team in the West without Monk and Melo... This team is really coming together, and whether we get a top 6 seed or a play-in round seed, I really think we'll win some games in the playoffs, especially if Melo is back to 100% full speed by then, which seems very possible.
  7. No. #1, #89, #59 (and maybe #58) should all probably be retired.
  8. Honestly, I could get behind getting Darnold for peanuts and just continuing to build the rest of the roster. If we could get a solid LT at 8 and go BPA the rest of the draft and hit on another pick (or multiple) like we did with Chinn then we could be a playoff team with Darnold.
  9. I agree to some degree, but I do think by the time they/we get to the 2nd round he'll be good enough at that point to improve their team, and even without him they're an absolute force. We'll see how it plays out, I'm not scared of the Lightning by any means but they are the defending champs and were 1st in the league until tonight...
  10. Yeah definitely can't break up Aho and Necas any time soon, their chemistry is just too good. Can't believe how well we've played without TT and Tro. With Necas emerging, Nino producing, Staal producing more offense, etc. our forwards are a much bigger strength than I thought coming into the year, once fully healthy. And with Ned emerging in net and our D group obviously being top 5 in the league, we really don't have many holes this year... Could still use a bit more toughness and physicality in our bottom 6, though Paquette has been a great addition in those aspects and Martinook has been playing better than last year, even if the points aren't piling up. Tampa in the playoffs likely with Kucherov back will still be a monster, but we really should be one of a handful of favorites for the cup this year, and our future going forward is frigging unbelievably bright.
  11. Hell, if Ned were in it wouldn't even be close...
  12. Loving this team and can't wait to see Melo back in the playoffs, or hopefully before. And I really think we need to find a way to keep our guard depth and keep both Monk and Graham this offseason, even if other teams come at them with decent offers. Keep building through the draft where Mitch has been unbelievable and then hope that with success and Melo being here we can draw some bigger name free agents down the road to bring us over the top.
  13. I'd still rather go back to the normal scheduling. This is great for this season, but I still like the idea of having at least 1 home game against every other team, and just a more spread out season. While games like this have been intriguing I've also already gotten tired of playing some teams, like Columbus. I could see them changing up the divisions going forward, especially with Seattle entering next season too.
  14. I'd be nervous about it but I think Svech needs to redeem himself for his first fight at some point, tonight could be as good as any
  15. Yeah I think we all are a bit surprised, I mean he's been just dominating on both ends of the ice. Similar impact to Aho as he was breaking out. We could see his potential last year but I never imagined he'd develop to this level this quickly. Either Svech or Nino with those two, then TT Tro and the other, is an incredible top 6. And I like Staal with Fast and either Foegele or McGinn on the other wing.
  16. What a huge turn of events. Necas is frigging elite if you ask me.
  17. Worth noting how insanely lucky they were that Houston's pick this year wound up being top 3 in a loaded QB draft...
  18. I was referring to us Panthers fans... And that was the old owner and leadership, Tepper hasn't done anything to deserve purgatory.
  19. People would've said the exact same thing about guys like Wilson and Brady going into their drafts... If anyone knew who that guy would be he'd be taken high, so nobody knows and it could be anyone.
  20. Watch us luck into a Wilson caliber QB in the 2nd or 3rd round... We deserve something like that to happen to our franchise.
  21. I'll believe it when I see it. Actually, no I won't. I still won't believe it if I see it.
  22. Also, could be the catalyst to getting Watson relatively cheap if he's cleared in the next 3-6 months (which is definitely a possibility, maybe unlikely but possible). Several teams removing themselves from the running for Watson with recent moves...
