I’ll say this… If we miss on our QB this off-season, we’re going to really miss those extra 1sts in the 2024 draft. We’re looking at potentially a Brian Burns for Drake Maye or Caleb Williams at QB for a decade.

So magically, the day after the season ends they become *poof* first rounders again. I get that to an extent, but a first in two years is very attractive to a rebuilding team.

We don’t have to pick up his 5th year to keep him around. If he doesn’t show he’s worth that kind of money, extend him with a more appropriate contract which is what I’m hoping. He’s not as bad as portrayed here. If he cleans up his technique on playing the ball when his back is to it, he’ll be an above average corner in the league. He’s right there most of the time.

It seems pretty clear that opinions vary on if Burns is worth a top DE contract. So I’ll ask this… What former or current Panthers ended up worth top contracts after we paid them who weren’t unanimously supported as ‘worth it’ before paying them?

If it could be assured, yes. More than willing. With no way of knowing, you draft the best QB you can this year. If Maye is there next year and you’re not positive about the rookie, take him and let them battle.

Whoever said Young is the best player in college was close. He’s right behind Drake Maye.

“similar” reasons. I definitely don’t view Stroud and Richardson as equals reading the field. I just think Young is significantly better at it.

Give me Bennett over Richardson all day. I’d much rather have a guy with lesser tools but knows how to play the position and distribute to playmakers over a physical prototype who struggles to read the field. I also favor Young over Stroud for similar reasons.

Give me Bennett on the Panthers over Richardson. Unless he’s going to be a TE

Falcons received: 2011 - Pick 6 and selected Julio Jones Browns Received: 2011 - 1st (#27), 2nd, and 4th rd picks 2012 - 1st and 4th rd picks Not only would we have an influx of more young talent on cheap contracts, but we'd have draft capital to move up for Drake Maye or Caleb Williams the following year. ETA: I think Bryce Young could potentially drop out of the top 5 anyway. After everyone freaks out over his measurables at the combine.

I'm not sure I'll ever pull against a team as much as I will the 49ers this year. I've never hated them, but there is too much draft positioning on the line.

Burns has 5 sacks in 7 games this year which puts him at .71. Looks like the 24 year old is turning the corner. Not surprising it took him a few years since everyone knew he was slender coming out of FSU.

Let Moton train him up. Looks like he needs some agility drills, but he's two years younger than Christensen. Plenty of time to develop into a role player.

I can envision a scenario where Bryce Young drops to a #5-10 pick after the combine. If we manage to win 5-6 games, I hope we get that lucky. We were that fortunate last year with the Tackles.

I want to see him play too, but I struggle to justify changing anything after yesterday's defensive performance.

I don’t see Chinn approaching a Derwin James-type deal. Likely more in the 12-15 mil average salary by that time. James is currently sitting near 20mil per.
