  1. I was 11 years old. Watching the game at home with my dad. He is a diehard Bengals fan, but I know he loved seeing me so into football at that point in my life. I had only been following the Panthers and keeping tabs on every game for a couple of seasons at that point. My first memories involve Chris Weinke and Wesley Walls. I’ll never forget watching this game as long as I live. Sitting on pins and needles the entire time. As soon as Smitty caught it and took off, my dad and I jumped off the couch and started screaming. As he ran it in, I remember trying to give my dad a big hug, while still jumping, and I accidentally head butted my dad right in the chin! I felt so bad about it, but he was fine and just super happy for me. Sat alone in my room watching us the week after beat the Eagles to go to the Super Bowl. Was too nervous to watch with anyone else at that point. Pretty sure I cried when we won. I know I cried when Brady beat us, but that was obviously a very different kind of sobbing.
  2. This could be the day Baker shuts the door on Sam. Hoping it’s true, at least. Panthers football is here!
  3. I am not someone who watches preseason football a ton. But I will be tuned in quite a bit for our games this year. I really want to see what Corral can do, even if it’s against second stringers.
  4. I hope Robby is coming around a tad. If anything, it’s got to be nice to be catching balls from someone other than Darnold.
  5. Darnold is fine and he’s earned a roster spot!!1
  6. Right. But let’s keep him just because the second best guy on our roster at this point is a rookie. Makes no sense.
  7. Oh give me a break. I live in reality and you choose not to. He’s terrible and we need to own the mistake at this point instead of keeping him around to ride the bench. We hAvE tO fOlLoW thE NFL hIeRaRcHy
  8. All joking aside, you really have to think Rhule is only keeping Sam on the roster for pride. Baker will be our starter, Matt should be our backup and getting those reps. We really don’t need Darnold at all. Rhule saving face is more important than getting our “future” all the reps he can get.
  9. Not surprising to hear. Potholes everywhere I go in my part of the state (Louisville area) We are behind on a lot of things, unfortunately.
  10. He’s not scary at all, anymore. He likely will be injured when we play them, anyways.
  11. Anyone who uses the word “trigger” has already lost. Blow me.
  12. Shut up, loser. Everyone is speculating itt. Shocking revelation on your end.
  13. I will root for him, and the team will be better this year because of him. But long term I think this hurts. We were free and clear to cut Rhule and Darnold after this season, all the while probably picking top 5. Baker isn’t the long term answer and now I’m not sure we will find a legitimate one in the draft.
  14. Hope this day never comes. Roll with Sam. If Corral learns the playbook, let’s see what he’s got. Those scenarios lead us to either having a franchise QB or the opportunity to draft one really high. They also don’t require us to spend any money or give up assets.
  15. Really no other point to be made. You nailed it. These gap QBs have been on 3 or 4 different teams for a reason. The QB class next year is loaded. Roll with Darnold or see what Corral has and go from there. Either of those scenarios likely has us picking top 5
  16. There is zero point of having PJ anymore. Sam or Matt will start and the other will be the two.
  17. I’m fine with Corral in the third, he’s a low risk high reward pick. It is true that this class of QBs was below average, and most people had at least one other guy graded above Matt going into the draft. He probably won’t start this year, but hell, some first rounders don’t even start their first years. I think most of us would love for him to come out guns blazing week one and light up the league. It’s just most likely not going to happen. And because of that, the Panthers will have a good chance at a top QB next season. Probably a new coach as well. The good news, is whoever is taking snaps for us at the start of 2023 is going to have a pretty nice roster to help them.
  18. I’m not reading through 35 pages. Most posts have been positive, as they should, but honestly not surprised some of you morons don’t like the pick. He was one of the last picks of the third round. Complete low risk/high reward move. It really shouldn’t be that hard to figure out.
