I’ll also say that if you like (or liked Corral)… you can’t then say you don’t like Stroud because of his system… Both QB’s get knocked for system… but at least Stroud’s overall numbers are elite…
-
You see something different than what the numbers say… The numbers say that he does struggle under pressure… as you mentioned… his interception% jumps to 5% when he’s under pressure and his completion percentage hovers around 50% when he’s under pressure. I won’t deny that, that’s something that he’ll need correct at the next level. However, from a pure thrower of the football. Within the realm and the scheme of the play, there’s not a better passer of the football. His passer rating, passing efficiency, adjusted completion percentage, well thrown percentage, his interception %, etc… all within what is considered the realm of the actual play (meaning clean pocket, no breakdowns, etc.) are the best in college football.
-
Not sure where you are getting the idea that he makes poor decisions in the passing game… that’s inaccurate. Within the concept of the called play, his interception % was 1%… the lowest in college football… his well thrown percentage and his passing efficiency are each in the top 10. He struggles when the play breaks down a bit but so do all college QB’s. Every QB in this class has some sort of flaw so it’s going to be more about what these QB’s can do than what they can’t do.
-
I’d be shocked if he comes out. Stroud, Young, Levis, Hooker, McKee, Hall, and McCall will all go before him. I think being the 8th QB off the board could force him to return. If he works on his game, he has a chance to position himself behind Williams, Maye, and Ewers in 2024.

Top 5 would be pretty ridiculous, especially considering the QB’s coming out next year, but he’s a stud. I think I actually like him better than Mayer, his movements seem more fluid. Though you can’t go wrong with either, both should be great at the next level.
-
If you can’t get Mayer this year, Bowers looks like he’d be a good consolation prize next year.

Oklahoma State might not come out of the locker room in the second half.

What’s your 2023 QB big board (including Corral)

Okay that makes sense to me, and I agree, I’m not a fan of Richardson either. It would be in his best interest to return to college. -
Oklahoma State is getting their poo kicked in.

That sucks man. Hopefully you hit on your others.

Not you, CatsFan. Saying that a dual threat QB is a QB that has to run in order to throw… whatever that means. -

Dual means you can do both… not that you need one to do the other… A QB that depends on running in order to throw does not exist in the NFL (and this is apparently your incorrect definition of the word dual). It’s fine that you want someone that can throw the ball, I’d also like a QB that can complete passes. But as another poster pointed out… having the ability to also take off and run gives you an added edge. Defenses sometimes lock up receivers… it happens, sometimes the defense is better. Having a guy that can take off and run in that scenario can turn a throwaway into a 10 yard scamper. -

Running QB’s aren’t in the NFL, it has not and won’t ever work… The Golden Calf of Bristol is the closest we’ve ever seen and the biggest play of his entire career was a pass… (overtime game winner against the Steelers in the playoffs)… I don’t know where these random definitions come from but dual QB’s are in the NFL… they exist… and right now they are probably the best QB’s in the NFL. -

He’s got to be someone’s alt… I don’t spend too much time with him because he’s either trolling or legit insane like you said… neither are worth my time. -

No they didn’t lol… they took what the defense gave them and ran when they could. At the end of the day they had to throw the ball to win. If they only needed to run then they wouldn’t have ever thrown the ball. -

A dual threat QB had never won the Superbowl and probably never will. I want a mobile QB ala Mahomes, Steve Young, Russ, Allen, Staubach etc. QB types worst to best Running QB = below average passer elite runner. Dual threat above average rusher above average passer. Pocket Passer elite passer below average runner Mobile QB elite passer average to above average runner. You can’t make up your own definitions… who do you think you are? Fugging Merriam-Webster… -

That’s not the definition of a dual threat QB… that’s some made of mindset by yourself. A quick Google will give you a definition… “In gridiron football, a dual-threat quarterback, also known as a running quarterback, is a quarterback (QB) who possesses the skills and physique to run with the ball if necessary.” Making up some ridiculous definition to fit your narrative doesn’t help your argument as there isn’t a QB in the NFL that has to run… Lamar doesn’t have the accuracy that someone like Mahomes has but Lamar has better physical traits that he can use to help him win… so why wouldn’t he use them… THERE’S NOT A SINGLE QB IN THE NFL THAT HAS TO RUN TO WIN. -

Allen is 100% a dual threat QB and anyone saying otherwise is wrong. He’s third among QB’s in rushing yards since 2020… if you want to create some absurd rushing number to define what a dual threat QB is then go ahead… it’ll just prove to everyone that you were wrong and are extending the finish line. Since 2020 Jackson - 2.2K rushing yards Murray - 1.5k rushing yards Allen - 1.4k rushing yards Hurts - 1.4k rushing yards Jackson is the closest thing that we’ve seen to a Michael Vick type of player but that player is described as a unicorn… not a dual threat QB. A dual threat QB is exactly what guys like Allen and Hurts are. -
Oh gotcha, yeah guess it depends what his odds were. I found one that was -109 which would have paid out $1,834.86 for a total of $3,834.86.

Nothing, he loses. Ohio State needed to win by 17

Syracuses magical season ended pretty quickly… lost to Clemson then lost to Notre Dame today.

Or not… what a kick to the nuts.
