  1. If it was truly a mistake then they don’t need to put McAdoo in front of the camera. I can see why Rhule would be upset… I mean he’s the HC. I just wouldn’t have made the comment he did in the interview about the whole respect thing.
  2. The problem is that all the elite QB’s in the NFL are elite athletes (outside of Brady who is in a league of his own). Mahomes… athlete…, Allen… athlete…, Herbert… athlete…, Burrow… athlete… Corral is a pure QB who is a decent athlete from a very collegesque system that requires minimal reading of a defense and he has an average arm. Switch to the NFL… Specifically looking at RPO pulls (where the QB keeps) Dolphins - Tagovailoa - average athlete and average arm strength Kansas City - Mahomes - elite athlete and elite arm strength Steelers - Roethlisberger - below average athlete and average arm strength (for last year) Chargers - Herbert - elite athlete and elite arm strength Bills - Allen - elite athlete and elite arm strength The guys really excelling in the offense that Corral is comfortable in are elite athletes and have elite arm strength. Now personally I think Corral will be better than Tua because we have a running game to take pressure off of Corral as where the Dolphins do not. But it’s concerning that all of the QB’s that excel in the RPO at the NFL level don’t exactly look like Corral.
  3. Please… the smiling was him covering up his disappointment. He felt that McAdoo undermined him which he probably did. I personally wouldn’t put that out in the media though.
  4. This, he doesn’t need to learn the RPO. He needs to learn an NFL offense and how to go through his reads. He’s a competitor, he’s mobile, he throws a solid ball, he’s got good footwork and technique, and he’s got good pocket awareness. Concerns include the system he came from and his arm strength. What we need to figure out is if he he’s a one read RPO QB or is he a guy that can scan the field and have the RPO as a tool at his disposal. There are three QB’s to take a look at when discussing the RPO (Mahomes, Herbert, and Tagovailoa). The Chiefs, Chargers, and Dolphins ran the RPO more than any other teams last year (Pittsburgh was also up there but Roethlisberger wasn’t in his prime so I’m not including him). Two of those guys above have elite physical traits and rockets for arms, one of those guys has decent physical traits and his arm is average. I personally think we are looking at a QB like Tua, if he had the physical gifts and arm strength of the other two then the only concern would be if he can process an NFL offense. My main concerns stem from not having elite arm strength in a spread offense that focuses on the RPO. I honestly would have felt better about Joe Brady developing Corral than McAdoo. Corral is exactly the type of QB that Brady wanted… oh well.
  5. Talent is there it’s just about if he can put two and two together and learn an NFL system, some can and then some can’t (Sam Darnold). Personally, I don’t have concerns. His competitive spirit and personality reminds me a lot of Kirk Cousins. He thinks he’s the best and he’s got a confidence to him that doesn’t come off assholish (Baker Mayfield). My only concerns are picking up the system and durability. I don’t think he’ll be a bust and I’ve maintained that I could see him being very similar to Tua in that you tailor your offense toward what he does best.
  6. Ever seen a Prius beat a Lambo in a race? You’re about to.
  7. I hope Kamil gets the start tonight, Orlando is coming off a shellacking by Red Bulls so hopefully we can inflict more damage.
  8. I don’t understand how it could be a panic pick. We needed to address the QB position regardless because Walker is not an NFL quality player. Panic would have been trading for Mayfield, regardless of who we selected, this is just trading up to fill a need.
  9. Maybe there’s a disconnect here. I prefer to have an intellectual conversation about the game of football with supporting facts. A conversation can be had without trashing the kid, the franchise, or anyone else. For starters, I’m a Panthers fan but no, I don’t agree with everything that they do. Secondly, no, I’m not a fan of Corral but I hope he succeeds. I’ve given a reason why and instead of an intellectual response in return people just poo your post because they aren’t capable of forming intellectual sentences about the game of football. I’ve seen your posts on Corral and I applaud you for having an opinion and backing it up. It’s more than most have done. I think people need to understand that on a message board opinions are meant to be shared and having a different opinion than someone else or even the organization doesn’t make you a “ hater”. I can still cheer for the kid but at the same time be concerned about the pick, the two aren’t mutually exclusive.
  10. Should have Rivera coach the kid. People need to differentiate between the spread and RPO. You run the RPO out of the spread but they aren’t the same concept. Cam played in a Spread offense at Auburn but the RPO was rarely run out of Chizik’s offense. In reality Rivera used Chizik’s spread offense but added the RPO concept. The RPO concept blew up in 2012 when Cam, Wilson, Kaepernick, and RGIII torched the NFL with the RPO. Since then the RPO has been more successfully defended against and drafting a QB from a system that calls RPO plays damn near 50% of the time is concerning. Kiffin ran more RPO’s out of the spread than nearly every coach in college football. The only QB in the NFL that has played in an offense with that much RPO action is Tua Tagovailoa I don’t think this is a scenario where you have Mahomes who has elite athleticism and an elite arm running the RPO at a significant rate. It seems to be more in line with Tua running the RPO.
  11. What’s even funnier is that Rhule followed up with expressing his disappointment that McAdoo named Darnold the starter last week because he should be the one to name the starter.
  12. Why do I have to be a sheep when I can have my own opinion? This board is supposed to be for football conversation not sucking off the FO. I gave a very valid reason for not liking the pick. There is only one QB in the NFL that ran as much RPO as Corral did and it’s Tua. So Willis can be trashed for his system but Corral can’t be disliked for his? There are very few people on this board that actually have real conversations when it comes to football. The rest either blindly follow the team like sheep or hate every move. I stated that I loved the Ickey pick and gave valid reasons for liking the pick even though some question his ability as a pass protector. I gave a valid reason for why I didn’t like the Corral pick as the system he came from doesn’t produce NFL QB’s. Instead of getting any real conversation back people post fugging videos of what one guy said because they have no knowledge of the game of football. Instead of pooing people’s posts people need to provide a valid response to a valid concern or find something else to do with their spare time. If my comment bothers you but you don’t have the intellect to have an actual football conversation with me then block me. I am here to talk football with the few that have any sense. Not cradle the balls of this franchise and cheer their every move.
  13. Darnold better not wander too far, Corral will spend more time at Novant Health than BofA.
  14. Not a fan of this one. Best comp is Tua Tagovailoa and the bottom line is an RPO QB just isn’t going to be successful in this league… and if you think Rhule will develop an RPO QB then let me interest you in some ocean front property in Kansas. Corral could develop into a solid QB but I don’t like the fit with us.
  15. Starting to think he’s probably already a member of the huddle.
  16. Tepper is gonna make him live at the Rock Hill site instead of the stadium.
  17. Please stop with these special guest picks… can’t even get the kids school right.
  18. That’s a great spot for Malik. Would still he happy with landing Howell in the fourth.
  19. Obviously Dean is going to be a redshirt player but man potentially having a very good ILB would be nice. Unfortunately we don’t have the luxury to make that pick.
  20. Lord now we have tik tockers doing picks… I hate 2022.
  21. Hugh Freeze tanked Willis’ draft stock because he’s still running the offense that he ran in The Blind Side.
  22. I know it was Bama but Ridder looked roughhhhh in the semi-finals. Our luck is he develops into a great QB and tortures us for years. Seems like a nice kid though.
  23. 1) Make the NFL Draft great again, chill will the stupid acts. 2) Atlanta drafted Mariota when they already have Mariota at home.
