FWIW, stylistically, Thor was drawing comparisons to Giannas and KD tonight. Obviously it’s the G-League and defense is pretty much non-existent… nonetheless, to drop 34 points in your first professional basketball game at 19 years old is impressive. In comparison, Jalen Green’s career high for the G-League Ignite was 30 points and Jonathan Kuminga’s was 24… Thor topped both of those marks in his first game. Green is currently averaging 14.8 points per game, Kuminga is not seeing much of the floor.

Canes vs Panthers pregame thread.
MillionDollarCam replied to TheMaulClaw's topic in Carolina Hurricanes
Kind of surprised the Canes haven’t called anyone up with the injures to both Pesce and Nino. Defensively, Joey Keane, Max Lajoie, and Jalen Chatfield have had decent starts for the Wolves. Offensively, C.J. Smith has been fantastic. Maybe the Canes are just waiting they truly need the extra body. However, if someone were to get hurt tomorrow they’d need to hustle someone down to Florida from Chicago rather quickly. It’ll also be interesting to see what the pairs are defensively. Personally, I’d role with: Slavin - TDA Skjei - Bear Cole - Smith But we shall see.. -
Swarm dropped their season opener 128-117. Leaders: JT Thor - 34 points (64% FG, 57% 3P), 12 rebounds, 2 assists LiAngelo Ball - 22 points (69% FG, 57% 3P), 1 rebound, 1 assist Arnoldas Kulboka - 20 points (58% FG, 57% 3P), 8 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 1 block

Not gonna happen tonight, back to backs are always difficult.
-
They’re trying. It’d be nice to be within 5 before the end of the period.
-
Not sure if they have it in them tonight.
-
I see what JB’s game-plan is… get smashed in the first quarter and lull them to sleep the rest of the game.
-
Yeah… that was some poo.
-
Well we’ve been here before…
-
Mason Plumlee killing us again… color me shocked.
-
Going to be a tough one on a back to back against a pretty decent Cavs team. The Cavs won’t have Love or Okoro tonight, hopefully our bench can take advantage. Last home game before we head out west, home crowd needs to get us over the hump tonight.

With seven teams making the playoffs from each conference every team at this point is still in contention. Bottom line is one shitty team is going to make it… it might be us.
-
Could be wrong here but I think off of pure winning percentage, the Southeast division is currently the toughest division in basketball.
-
Agreed, if there’s one thing we need Plumlee to do it’s rebound. Nurkic out-rebounded him 14-6 in one less minute of play. If he can’t do that then give Richards a chance.
-
Good response… one things for sure, this team can score. When they want to play defense they are really tough team to beat. A winnable game tomorrow against Cleveland but it’ll be tough on a back to back.

I don’t think Greensboro starts play until next week… wouldn’t be surprised to see Thor and Carey head there once the games start.
-
Man… love that energy from Kelly Oubre.
-
Kelly has been a nice surprise this year.
-
Wonder what happened to Gerald Henderson… he used to have Wes’ job.
-
Should be up by at least six but can’t make damn free throws.
-
Free throws are killing us…
-
Honestly I’m not opposed to Richards getting minutes now. Plumlee has been that bad.
-
JB is pissed cause the guys ain’t rebounding for poo.
-
At the very least they should have picked up Richaun Holmes instead of trading for Plumlee. Assuming they could have gotten Holmes for $12M a year they could have traded Carey for nothing, traded their second round pick which became JT Thor for nothing, and elected not to trade for Plumlee… there’s your $12M.

This team desperately needs a rim protecting center. A first and P.J. Washington for Turner would be ideal.
