  1. Looks like Crosby is playing tonight… at the end of the day I don’t really care who we play next, though I would absolutely love to knock Adam Fox out of the playoffs.
  2. It’s not about the attendance, it never has been. It’s about the overall atmosphere. The Panthers were sixth in average attendance last year according to ESPN (not sure I buy those numbers) but more often than not the place was quieter than on a Pentecostal church on a Sunday morning. I think a lot of that has to do with the type of people that go to Panthers games, it’s probably a very similar crowd to that of a UNC basketball game… i.e. the type of people that don’t stand, clap like they are at a golf tournament, and leave before the game is over because God forbid there be traffic. I love both the Panthers and Tar Heels but their game day atmosphere leaves a lot to be desired. Fans shouldn’t have to be directed on when they should say “Keep” and when they should say “Pounding”… it makes the fanbase as a whole look like we are unintelligent.
  3. I get that you can’t compare the Stanley Cup Playoffs to a regular season NFL game but this still doesn’t answer the question as to why do Charlotte FC games sound louder than Panthers games? Charlotte FC is average at best and obviously there are chants and drums but even excluding those two things there still seems to be more noise at those games then at Panthers games (and that’s with half the support). I’ll also mention that Charlotte FC fans have managed to come up with chants with out the big screen telling them when to actually start the chant. Maybe it’s the demographic of people as the Hispanic population has really come out in support of Charlotte FC and the bottom line is that the club would not be successful without them. However, that demographic also isn’t fickle. They are behind the club when they are good and they are behind the club when they are bad… they also stay for the entirety of the game even when the result is no longer in doubt. It doesn’t help that Charlotte is a transplant city but my God this fanbase could use a little rowdiness (even when we suck). It would be nice to go to a game and see people actually standing and yelling (whether it’s good or bad things). When I lived in Charlotte back in the early 2000’s and had season tickets there was a guy that stood up the entire game and just repeatedly screamed, “Fox, Run the Damn Ball”… he probably said it over 20 times a game and it straddled the fence of hilarity but at the end of the day I enjoyed those games even when the Panthers sucked because the fanbase was engaged and was constantly making noise even if it was just boo’s or drunken nonsense. Panthers games now feel like a trip to the dentist. You can’t talk and God forbid you stand up and get a little restless. Our games now remind me of the UNC games that I used to go to around 5 years ago… i.e. would you like some wine with your cheese type of crowd.
  4. If I had to guess… Colorado/St. Louis and Florida/Tampa starts Tuesday while Carolina/New York or Pittsburgh and Edmonton/Calgary or Dallas starts on Wednesday. Pittsburgh and New York both are in the top three in raw viewership (along with Boston) so they won’t mind giving us the the first Sunday game. Especially since that first Sunday game will either be in Pittsburgh or New York. We’ll have the home games on Wednesday and Friday.
  5. Tuesday would make sense. Guess it just depends on who they want to put up there first. With all the series’s basically ending at the same time, someone is going to get an extra day of rest.
  6. Solid point, he’d get Charlotte’s job well before he’d get Milwaukee’s. I also wouldn’t be surprised to see Stoudemire join up with MDA again. Both worked together in Brooklyn under Nash.
  7. Andersen would have beaten the Bruins in 5… he absolutely owns them. 15-3 lifetime against them with a .937. It’s common knowledge that he is Boston’s daddy. As for this next series, it’s Raanta’s net until he loses. I suspect we won’t have a game until Wednesday (maybe Tuesday at the earliest). Raanta will be ready to go by then.
  8. I mean I literally gave you examples… if that’s not good enough for you then I don’t know what is.
  9. McDavid hasn’t made it out of the first round since 2016… does that change tonight?
  10. Hopefully those two teams knock the poo out of each other like they did last year. Tampa isn’t near as strong but they have ol’ Vaseline in net so they’ll probably hang in there.
  11. Freddie didn’t play a single game and still made it further than the Leafs…
  12. Not thrilled with MAR switching back to a 4-4-2 tonight, it’s not like we are playing Man City… this is Montreal for crying out loud. No reason to adjust what’s been working because of fuging Montreal… not good to drop points at home.
  13. Ultimately this is the accurate statement. Canes games were the equivalent of going to a morgue just five years ago.
  14. Would prefer not to play the pins, don’t want big cock Brock getting any revenge.
  15. If you don’t think the NHL tries to get to game sevens then you are living in a fantasy world. They tried like hell to get Washington to a game seven last night. The NBA obviously does it, Donaghy blew their cover. It’s not out of the question to think the NHL might do it. Tim Peel was fired for trying to fix NHL games just last year.
  16. Boys hanging tough with Montreal early. Guess we decided to go back to a 4-4-2 because of Mihailović.
  17. Not like this… I’ve been watching since the early 2000’s and I’ve never seen this many game 7’s. There were only three series’s that went to a game 7 during the entirety of the playoffs last year… we’ve already eclipsed that.
  18. If we get the Rangers then we win in five or six. Could see a matchup against the Pens going seven.
  19. Not just Canes games… Charlotte FC games are more lively than Panthers games with half the support.
  20. Five out of eight going to game 7… seems how do you say… staged.
  21. 4 series’ are going to a game seven, Washington is 15 minutes from making it 5 and Dallas can make it 6… NHL is getting what they want and it’s pretty blatant.
