Given Tepper’s propensity to be all in, looking to buck trends, and trying for the newer hyped guys, I see Jerod Mayo as a strong possibility.

Rhule "Hey Paul, what do you think about coaching DL for me?" Paul: "Is this the milkman? Oh nevermind, yes, count me in Mr. coach. I love Tight Ends"
-
By all accounts it seemed he was given a cushy Gators job/pseudo retired the last 2 years. Rhule is digging up some NFL grave sites.

This dude definitely blames his farts on others

During Drills Coach Paul: "Erhhhhhhhh" YGM: "What's up coach? I was on point" Coach Paul: "Erhhhhhhghhhh" Brown: "Yeah what's the deal? Timing seems fine" Coach Paul: "My back" *falls

I cannot confirm nor deny my abilities of faking it until making it lol. You might as well put on the smile and strap in for the ride, see how high it can go. At least we don't have to deal with fans. Just clients from time to time lol. -
Holy moly what a roller coaster resume after Syracuse. Stepped away from football 2020 and Dan Mullen brought him back as a “special assistant to the HC” at Florida since in an off field scout role. Well the good thing is he’s used to being fired so if it doesn’t work out, it ain’t no thang.

Given the QB situation, depending on how they laid it out, it could’ve been framed like this: Attempt 1-target top FA — didn’t happen. The QB carousel sucked minus Brady jumping to TB. Teddy it was. Attempt 2-We considered some in the draft but it appeared to be Herbert, Tua and Burrow. If we wanted Hurts, could’ve gotten him. Nada. Attempt 3-find next best FA—got denied by Stafford. Watson fiasco happened. Another poor QB carousel. Attempt 4-trade for a project (Darnold) Attempt 5-check draft again, they didn’t like any Rhule could very well be selling that any other guy would’ve had the same QB options and to let him find his rookie to build with his team. That’s what I’m afraid of and Pickett could be a restart for a 2-3 year plan. He’s framing it as finally having a QB to pick in the draft. -

Yeah I wouldn’t want to just give the personnel responsibility right over to Fit when/if Rhule goes this next season. He was identified by Rhule & Tepp and agreed to his current role. He should get the same brunt of it for being part of it all. Not gifted a promotion due to his decider’s ineptitude. Sometimes that can work out but I’d prefer we just assemble a Front Office that has a model and finds a coach for it. -

Reactions seem par for the course, don't see anyone like,. "ohhh realllly?!?". The interesting note is the OP confirmation w/ the added news of the contract language. It's always been his show. -
We'd be lucky to get one. Being UFAs, they'll be dictating a lot, deciding from multiple offers. Maybe we can have more appeal than WAS or HOU but we'll need to overpay or find a guy who randomly loves Charlotte. Plenty of quality teams with great QBs have OL needs. I'm just hoping we can at least land 1 that's not this perpetual mid-tier, second contract type that we overpay because we're not quality enough for the better ones. Let's get just one quality OL signing, ideally at Center. Plz.

Yep. Just looking at the OL, WR and DL talent likely to be sitting in R2-3 this year makes me a sad panda. Gave up pick 37, $18.9 mil, a 4th and 6th for Darnold. Good god. We could’ve just sucked with Kyle Allen this whole time. Hell, may have been better lol. We better get a promising young coach and QB next year after having to sit through this crap. -

He’s got blinders and built up confidence in his first coaching hire. Even the smartest among us can be fooled. He’s not infallible but I’d like to hope he’s shortening his leash. I don’t see this situation being sustainable on its current trajectory for an entire season. We lost what like 7 in a row? We just completely wrecked. Depends on how much crap he’s willing to sift in. What he likely perceived as patience has become stubbornness to act in the fan’s view. -

If this is the level of confidence and control Tepper threw at him, it makes me wonder if he’s even more safe than led on and Dave is sold on this longer term plan. We could go 7-10 next year and he could stay pat. Holy moly -

In today's league, center is as much if not more critical than LT at times. Getting those two spots will do wonders. Not the best way to put this but grab an LT at #6, and find a legit sub-28 y/o Interior Lineman w/Moton, you have two spots where a 75-80 ranked on the vide game things would be sufficient. That could very well be what Deonte & Brady C are. Put the right compliments beside them and they could be a-ok. I see LT & C as the must fills.

I've tried to convince myself to see the light with just about all of these guys and it just didn't happen. I've changed my mind a lot, but man, it's such a deflating class. Corral & Willis are the only ones with any upside that are 1st round sniffable. I wonder how this would stack up in the 2019 class. After Kyler, would Drew Lock be considered ahead of this entire class? I might think so. Maybe not ahead of Corral & Willis, but possibly.

This is what I've landed on as much as we all want him to succeed. If he can backup LG & LT for us, sometimes fill in, then he's actually a huge asset. It allows us to just land Ekwonu/Neal/etc., fill like one dude in there like Bozeman/Ted Karras. Overall, just target 2 guys minimum at LT & IOL who will elevate/make life easier for whoever fills those gaps between them. LT: Ekwonu/Neal/Cross LG: TBD/Brady C/Elf Center: Bozeman/Karras/Jones RG: TBD/Deonte RT: Moton Erving is back to his lifelong swing-lineman depth role which is honestly fine. That right there puts us in such a better spot off the bat. Maybe take some more stabs in the 4th or (2) 5ths at guard (which is where many come from) or another low-end FA or two. The big investment is basically using Pick 6 & just one decent FA signing to shore this thing up. And worst case, they do throw in Deonte or Brady at those guard spots. It just makes life so much easier for the new coach and QB come 2023. Whoever the feck that will be.

Big AF southern boy, Alabama roots, think he’d enjoy playing and living in Charlotte too. Can rock it at C and play emergency guard. Like him better than Ben Jones. He’s my ideal pickup. Draft a LT high. Then the focus is at LG and RG. Maybe that’s Brady and Deonte, maybe someone else but that’s the way I tackle this. Realistically, we have 2 decent FA signings available if we want to get a for sure contributor this year. Bozeman at C/G and Anthony Walker Jr at LB are my 2 fave targets to set this team up.

Now we’re talking haha. Feel like Jake and TO would’ve crushed that back in the day.
