  1. We'll, let's just say for me to take your opinions more seriously than those of people with actual access to the team would take...a lot.
  2. If that makes you feel better Pretty obvious you haven't watched the video (it's still online) but again, believing your own wild theories over actual sources is kind of silly.
  3. Believing something happened based on your own uninformed ideas rather than actual sourced material is what's truly ludicrous. Not sure what you expect to gain by crying "The Panthers liked the quarterback I did even though they didn't take him, damn it!" But hey, you be you.
  4. Filmed prior to the draft, released after. And for the record, the Panthers under Tepper love releasing behind the scenes stuff. The tight lipped approach was under Richardson.
  5. Actually, yeah. Rhule broke it down on Panthers Confidential. Neither Fields nor Lance was on it. And there was pretty extensive discussion of that fact on here right after the episode premiered.
  6. You have a hard time believing that different personnel people could have different opinions on a prospect?
  7. Joe Douglas gave an extensive (and pretty open) interview after the trade. Went into a lot of details about the negotiations and the decision making process. One of the big details that came out of that was that they weren't willing to part with Darnold until they'd gone through the quarterback evaluation process with all prospects. It was shortly after Wilson's pro day that they finally agreed.
  8. Still waiting for an explanation of how Trey Lance not fitting our system with our pick at number 8 changes if our pick is at number 3
  9. Everybody but the Jets, who confirmed that they strongly considered keeping Darnold.
  10. Still pushing that same discredited narrative? (did David Tepper ever come back to the room?)
  11. As far as trade targets, it feels like half the teams in the league have traded for Nick Foles. Could we be next? (I remember him having a ridiculous contract though)
  12. The trade to number three discussion happened before Wilson was cemented as the number two pick. The trade up to number two scenario I mentioned was within the framework of your question about what would have happened if we'd already had the third pick.
  13. Who let you in? (good to see ya, dude)
  14. Available free agents (via Spotrac) - Alex Smith (pretty sure he retired, but...) - Robert Griffin III - Matt Barkley - Josh McCown (excellent mentor type ) - Blake Bortles - Brett Hundley - Sean Mannion (been getting a lot of tryouts) - Ryan Finley - Jamie Newman (yeah...no) - Josh Johnson - Case Cookus (yes, that's a real guy; I looked him up) Not a great list.
  15. Injury news that could be bad for two teams... That's unusual.
  16. It actually does happen sometimes. Whether or not it will this offseason? Don't know.
  17. That does actually make sense. It's just not what I'm used to seeing.
  18. We had word even before the draft that they weren't all thay high on anybody but Lawrence and Wilson. Having a higher pick might have increased their chances of trying to trade up for Wilson but it's extremely doubtful it would have changed their attitude about Fields, and definitely not Lance. Rhule's post-draft comment about the low hit rate on first-round quarterbacks also testifies to that. Truthfully, the most likely outcome of us being in the number three spot is we get Penei Sewell. And in that situation might still have traded for Darnold post-draft instead of prior. I get that there are some people who were really high on Fields and wanted us to get him, but it's pretty clear that outside of maybe David Tepper, the Panthers weren't, and thus they didn't. You can make up all the "what if" scenarios in the world if you want to but it's not going to change anything.
  19. Did you watch Panthers Confidential? Verge knew even before the draft that the Fields talk was fake. Since the draft ended, both Gantt and Person confirmed the rumored interest in Fields was fishing for a trade down. Plus there's that thing that, you know, we didn't take him when we had the chance.
  20. Impossible to say that a quarterback we passed on at #8 we might have taken at #3? You're seriously asking this? Also wondering exactly how Trey Lance not fitting our system would have changed if we had a higher pick
  21. Don't know. From that position we could conceivably have traded the Jets for number two and taken Wilson. What I do know is even if we stayed at number three, we weren't taking Justin Fields or Trey Lance.
  22. That only happens if a game is cancelled.
