  1. And again, if he had "unequivocally proven" anything, he wouldn't have been replaced and let go and more than two teams would have pursued him.
  2. They just recently lost a longtime photographer too.
  3. It's not really that big a deal. And I wouldn't bet on it having anything to do with Fitterer. We're talking about a logistics and planning guy, not a personnel guy. Plus it sounds like a good portion of what got him forced out might have happened before Fitterer even got here. In his previous stops, Padden was likely used to holding a lot of sway because he was basically Rhule's second in command. An NFL organization is way more complicated than that. Sounds like maybe he was just throwing around weight that he didn't have and it pissed people off.
  4. If there had been zero questions, he never would have left stop #1. And in fact, there were major questions, especially about his shoulder. That's why only two teams really pursued him.
  5. Yeah. It's a legit "heat of the moment" decision. I think a lot of these things are, because if you took a moment to think about it you'd probably realize it was insane.
  6. This is one of those things that looks really cool, then afterward you ask yourself what the hell you were doing and call yourself an idiot.
  7. The league is mostly about hot young offensive coaches these days.
  8. OL lineup New TEs Arnold and Tremble Terrace Marshall, Chuba Hubbard Jaycee Horn
  9. Plus you have an offense that spreads the ball around.
  10. So there was some conflict somewhere after all. "Employees/officials throughout the organization" makes it sound like he annoyed a bunch of people.
  11. Probably not. Might have just wanted to get back into the college game. Or may have wanted a change of scenery.
  12. Padden is the guy that raced a mobile tackling dummy then had it knock him on his ass after he won. "Operations" for the Panthers is mostly logistical stuff. He wasn't a personnel guy. Neither is his replacement.
  13. People are looking for something that isn't there.
  14. To be fair, the Jags owner also owns AEW and the bit reportedly got a big crowd reaction in Jacksonville. Several people said it would have been funnier with their new tight end though.
  15. Of note: Tre Boston stops counting against the Panthers cap today.
  16. Seeing some chatter about Zach Ertz being traded (not to us).
  17. Went back and saw it. There's a break in the video shortly after he flashes two and five, so we don't know what happened inbetween that and the end of the call.
  18. I can watch 38. At least it's exciting. But you couldn't make me watch 50 with a gun to my head.
  19. I'd agree that if Darnold doesn't work out, the next guy is probably a draft pick. And yeah, we should be in a way better position to spend the kind of resources it'd take to get someone like that next year.
  20. Easy to forget he's a Hall of Fame voter. Much easier to remember that he's a prick, though.
  21. Rhule's pre-draft mock shown on Panthers Confidential makes it pretty clear that at that time, they were sure he'd be available. More than one source said before the draft that they didn't like anybody outside of Lawrence and Wilson. Looks to have been true, especially coupled with Rhule's comments about the low hit rate on first round quarterbacks.
