I vaguely remember seeing something that there were going to be limitations on how many players you could bring to tryouts this year. As I recall, previously you could bring in as many as you wanted.
-
The NFL's goal was to make it harder. They definitely succeeded.

I miss having a "delete post" option.

Not just talking about field goals. When I was young, missed extra points were something you saw about as often as you saw a unicorn. These days, it feels like I see at least one per week (and not just from us).

Interesting note about Terrace Marshall

Me too. What an amazing person. -
I'd have to look it up. Rodgers was in that role forever. Pretty sure he originally took that job when Marty was named GM the first time and didn't leave it until last year.
-
To be honest, a lack of consistency is pretty consistent across the league. It's definitely tough to find a reliable kicker these days.

Washington, and the guy whose name starts with S works for us now (Samir Suleiman). An autographed picture of Marty Hurney.
-
I'd actually forgotten he was with the Falcons. If I remember correctly, he was drafted by the Ravens.
-
Rob Rodgers I'll give you three guesses what team he works for now. No, not him
-
Might be losing a guy too... The Raiders would be another team I’d have an eye on in that regard. And teams with new GMs will probably keep tweaking—I’ve heard Holmes could bring Panthers scout Mike Martin to Detroit in some sort of elevated role. Martin's a college scout who's been with the Panthers since 2018. He was the Assistant Director of College Scouting for the Texans prior to that (parted ways with the Texans the same offseason that Jack Easterby came on board).

Kuechly and Morgan being on the same staff is a fun thought.

I'd guess most of us are From what I've read, Morgan and Fitterer are pretty good friends, so bringing in Morgan as Assistant GM sounds like a real possibility. Conceivable you might also see us part ways with the last vestiges of the Jerry Richardson era.

Post draft is often a time for changes to the personnel staff. Having a new GM increases that possibility. Albert Breer calls the Panthers a team to watch on that front, mentioning a familiar name that we've discussed here before. This time of year, there are changes in scouting departments, so I think you’ll see some shuffling. The Panthers are one team to watch. They could bring in a new assistant GM or VP of player personnel, and Bills director of player personnel Dan Morgan, given that he’s a former Panther linebacker and ex-coworker of Fitterer’s, would be one name to watch, as would Kansas City’s Ryan Poles and Philadelphia’s Ian Cunningham.

Right after they lost out on Stafford. But yeah, the Jets wanted to finish their evaluations. They checked on Watson at roughly the same time, but Houston never budged on not trading him and then the allegations happened. Honestly, the more I read on that topic, the more I think those "Watson at all costs" stories were a lot of smoke and not a lot of fire. They explored other options while waiting on the Jets, but never moved away from Darnold. It wasn't until Justin Fields pro day that the Jets were finally ready to deal, though even then some people were hesitant. -

The Athletic had a pretty detailed article about the process that led up to the trade. -

Again, there's a difference between him being a rookie and him being treated as one. Rhule has affirmed that this is the plan, and from what I've read about his time in New York, I agree with that approach. -

Fitterer doesn't have to feed it. It gets out there on its own. All he has to do is not refute it. -

I heard one guy say this is basically year one of the rebuild rather than year two. -

People can indeed be fooled, and frequently are. Look back at our last GM for reference. -

Some of it probably was. Fitterer let it be known a while back he was comfortable with misinformation being out there.
