People really need to let this "maybe we're still holding out for Watson" thing go. For one, Verge has already said that ship is "over the horizon". For another, we're now up to 19 lawsuits with at least one more coming, plenty of disturbing charges contained in every one, and no easy path out of this other than settling (which, you know, means admitting that yeah you did something) Even if he does eventually get cleared (which at this point is starting to seem borderline miraculous) that's going to be a long long time. Do you really want our leadership to sit around waiting for a year or so on something that might not (and likely won't) happen before we try fixing a major problem? That's insane.

Said it elsewhere: Breer is one of the best sources around.

I haven't seen any speculation on what it would take to get Minshew.

Northwestern game was arguably rougher.

Both mocks have us taking only a single offensive lineman, and one has it not being until the 7th round. Yikes!

People have said the same thing about our system, including a few specifically saying that you needed a Cam Newton type of quarterback to make this system work. That's a statement that pretty clearly says someone doesn't know what they're talking about.

There are definite indications that the Niners are indeed serious about not trading Garoppolo.
-
It's not my belief. Albert Breer reported it. The Jets and 49ers staffs are well acquainted, including the GMs. The Niners know they have no shot at Wilson.

Free agency has slowed down a great deal, but is still going on...

Just to clarify, the 49ers are not skipping Justin Fields workout. Adam Peters will be attending.

Don"t Expect Carolina to Trade Up for a QB.
Mr. Scot replied to chknwing's topic in Carolina Panthers
FYI: Peter King believes the Panthers would be willing to make the crazy trade, but the Jets wouldn't. -
The 49ers traded up to number three because they know the Jets are not moving off of taking Wilson at number two.

About that...
