If they trade for Wilson, the math to get them under the cap might be something that would make Pythagoras throw up his hands and walk away.

Sileo mentioned the Eagles also, but it's Sileo so...

Report: 49ers called Panthers about Teddy Bridgewater
Mr. Scot replied to WarPanthers89's topic in Carolina Panthers
Albert Breer was one. Bill Voth and Darin Gantt, who both not only report on the Panthers but are employed by them, have also acknowledged that the pursuit of Stafford happened. I'd add that unless you're in your mid-fifties or older I've likely been watching the NFL since before you were born. I have no trouble forming my own opinions. My opinion of Bridgewater is that he's best suited to be a backup. -

It wasn't anonymous. It came from very credible sources. You on the other hand are both anonymous and a non-established source, so what reason would I have to believe you? -

We almost did, and actually would have if not for the Rams coming along with a better offer. That's been confirmed by more than one source. -
Possible.
-
I'd agree it's an unknown.
-
That's not hard to imagine. I have yet to see a business, government or other model that can account for or stop the ill effects of the human ego. Doesn't matter how perfect a system you come up with. If it's run by people, it can be screwed up.
-
Yeah, not that worried. You've made something like half a dozen plus predictions based on "the Appaloosa Way" as you claim to understand it. None of them have come true, not a single one. That tells me that either you don't actually know anything about the model or maybe the whole thing is just bullsh-t. Either way, I can't really put a whole lot of stock in your predictions or analyses.
-
Yeeeeah...no. And to put it more directly, bullsh-t. We're doing things the Seahawks way, if anything. The best thing Tepper can do is imitate Seattle's owner and keep his hands off.
-
I believe Matt Rhule and Scott Fitterer have infinitely better decision making capabilities when it comes to football than David Tepper. And the good news on that front is that David Tepper seems to understand that. if we're talking hedge funds or financial stuff, absolutely he's the smartest man in the room. If we're talking football, he's not even close.

The Seahawks have given up on Josh Gordon. They're letting him go.

Why'd you have to mention those names? -
NBC's Peter King wont be suprised if Mac Jones goes ahead of Lance
Mr. Scot replied to ncfan's topic in Carolina Panthers
The season was still postponed because of the virus. Taking any of this as an indication that he doesn't love the game seems like a stretch to me. -

I don't think it's wrong to love your health more than football. This past year was a unique situation. It's not like he was saying "nah, I don't feel like it". -

I'm not the world's biggest Trey Lance fan but to be fair, it's kinda hard to blame anybody for opting out of last season. -
Add Lions corner Desmond Trufant to the list. He's been informed by the team that he's going to be released. Trufant is 30, if you're wondering. Others up to this point... Dolphins LB Kyle Van Noy Vikings TE Kyle Rudolph Saints TE Jared Cook Giants WR Golden Tate Bears CB Buster Skrine Saints TE Josh Hill Jets DT Henry Anderson Giants LB David Mayo It's certainly the season for it, but the general expectation is that we're probably going to see more of these than usual, especially if the prediction that was given to Russini is true.

Olsen joining Davis in return and retirement
Mr. Scot replied to Mr. Scot's topic in Carolina Panthers
Nothing confirmed as yet, just possible. It's all going to happen via Zoom though so "showing up" doesn't mean what it typically would. -
Olsen joining Davis in return and retirement

Person said he hopes Ryan Kalil makes an appearance at the Zoom ceremony. I think that'd be great. -
Chris Simms Just Released his 2021 QB Rankings
Mr. Scot replied to Ricky Spanish's topic in Carolina Panthers
Legitimately possible I'm not a big enough believer in that idea that I want to see it happen though. -
Someone on Twitter (Panther reporter I think, but I forget which) pointed out that Joe Brady would be acquainted with Jared Cook. May not mean anything, but...

Don't forget you have to set aside some for draftees. Possible there will also be other moves on our part to clear more cap.
