  1. Rapoport confirmed that both the Bears and the Colts have been in talks about Wentz and continue to be. One wild scenario that's emerging involves Nick foles being traded back to the Eagles as part of the compensation package for Wentz.
  2. Let's clarify again what "in on every deal" means and what it doesn't... It does mean we'll investigate every option. It does mean we'll be aggressive trying to acquire players we think are worth it. It does not mean that we'll pursue every big name / well known player because we may not think some of them are worth it. It also doesn't mean that we'll just casually overspend above what we think someone is worth. The plan is to be aggressive, but the plan is also to be wise.
  3. All indications are the Texans would rather gouge out their own eyes than trade Watson. And again, even if they did change their minds, there are teams in position to make much better offers than us. Things could change, but right now I'd say anyone pinning their hopes on his being here is just setting themselves up for disappointment.
  4. At least for right now, that's not what they want. Basically, they don't want. Tom Pelissero reported that the Texans are still telling people that they won't discuss trading him. Their plan, according to multiple teams that have spoken about it, is to bring him back... period. They won't consider otherwise. Pelissero says teams are continuing to call and making offers in case they change their mind, but they say they won't and are pretty dug in about it.
  5. I'm actually trying to help him out, but I doubt he sees that. He's latched on to this idea that the Panthers have some kind of unique structure never before seen in the NFL. They don't. It's no different than what the Seahawks have been using pretty much since Pete Carroll got there. And heck, it wasn't a new thing back then either. It's actually been around since I can remember paying attention to those things. But again, he's stuck on the idea that it's new. Also believes that he and I are debating (probably thinks he's winning too) so he keeps spamming the same thing into every topic thinking he's going to draw me into a further discussion about it. I'm not interested. Neither is anyone else, really. There's not much use talking about it because he's got it in his head that he knows something other people don't, and because that makes him feel good he refuses to consider otherwise. So...yeah Basically, this is how he got one of his previous IDs banned. He annoyed people with that behavior to the point they started complaining about him. And he's doing the same thing with this one. I've tried to tell him repeatedly, just like I did with his old screen name, that he should stop this crap and just be part of the discussion, but...well, you get it. My guess: He'll probably respond to this post with more of the same.
  6. Again...oy Here's the problem, kid. Everything that you've predicted would happen based on your self declared knowledge of how things run...has been completely wrong. "Marty Hurney will be with the Panthers organization for years to come" you said. He was fired before the season was even over. "The Panthers will not hire a traditional GM. David Tepper will be the one making the decisions." Wrong again. We hired a GM with a traditional scouting background, after which Tepper stated that he doesn't have the skill to do talent evaluation and he's not going to try. "David Tepper isn't going to defer to anybody." Strike three...or four...or... something, because the GM hire ended up being the kind of guy Matt Rhule wanted, not any of the ones that Tepper suggested. "The Panthers are going to hire an analytics guy as their GM." Again, no. None of the analytics guys even made it to the second round of interviews. "Of the remaining candidates, Tepper will choose the one who's most involved in analytics." As mentioned above, Scott Fitterer's resumé is all pure scouting. He's acknowledged his prior team's use of analytics but admits he's not that familiar with it. "Tepper will hire Monti Ossenfort because he values intelligence and Ossenfort has two degrees." you were still predicting this even after Fitterer had already been hired. One more time...oy So again, like I've tried to advise you to do before, stop trying to make yourself out to be a big deal and just be part of the discussion like the rest of us. Believe it or not, you'll be happier.
  7. Somebody on Twitter earlier mentioned that the cap implications would make it pretty much impossible for them to take Bridgewater in the trade.
  8. I'm not interested in this discussion, dude. Nobody is, and it doesn't mean what you think it means anyway. Let it go. All you're doing is getting yourself made fun of.
  9. I believe in trying to win, but I'm also realistic enough to know that it isn't always the best outcome. With regard to that game though, I think the win had a lot more to do with Ron being a dumbass than it did with us.
  10. Oy Look dude, I know you think you're taking part in a debate, but the only person actually debating is you. Nobody else cares about this stuff. It's a football board. We're here to talk about football. If you don't understand football, then ask questions. But spamming stuff that nobody else is interested in into a hundred different topics (and annoying people in the process) is what got you banned under your previous IDs. At the very least, do yourself a favor and find some new material because again, nobody gives a sh-t about this stuff but you.
  11. Dude, nobody cares about this "Appaloosa Model" bullsh-t but you.
  12. I don't. I do think it's highly possible (maybe even probable) that we get somebody other than Watson, but I don't think it's going to be Wentz.
  13. I put it here because I didn't think there was much to it, (i.e. just fines) but now I'm hearing it might involve draft picks.
  14. Not that anybody on that list isn't deserving, but it would have been nice to see Sam get in.
  15. Probably the only award going to a Panther or former Panther this year.
  16. Tom Flores and Drew Pearson added. And you know at least one remaining spot is going to Peyton Manning. Not looking like this is Sam's year.
  17. Second Hall of Famer, Calvin Johnson. Chase young wins Defensive Rookie of the Year over Jeremy Chinn.
  18. First Hall of Famer announced on NFL honors,Charles Woodson.
  19. According to what I read from Ian Rapoport (I think) the talks have actually been going on for about a week but word hadn't got out before now.
  20. I just share what I see, dude.
  21. Someone actually made a good point on Twitter. If a GM who wants him anonymously puts out there that the price is two first rounders when in reality just a first rounder and some change,, he winds up looking smart. No, that wouldn't be us.
