Reich had no problem moving on from Carson Wentz. He even apologized to Irsay for not being able to "fix" him. It was the following year when Irsay started trying to dictate the depth chart that things got testy.

It's not just that he's calling the plays. He wrote them.

More from Diana Russini... Bill O'Brien as a head coach isn't something I'd want to see, but he would be an OC option if things go as expected in New England. Personally I'd rather give Jim Caldwell a shot, but who knows what'll happen here?
-
No argument... I've said elsewhere that I could see Thomas Brown being relieved of his duties and replaced by Jim Caldwell. As much as Brown may be an up-and-coming coach, I don't know that he was ready to be an OC yet.
-
Also from today's presser...
-
Staying within a West Coast style offense, the left guard position gets solidified by Ickey moving into it. That probably wouldn't happen until next season though. If Christensen were available, he could be moved to left tackle. Sadly, he isn't and I don't know that we have anyone else up to the task.
-
It ought to be though. The guy writing our playbook came from Sean McVay's system where creativity is encouraged. Unfortunately, that's one of the other areas where I think we're lacking. The play designs we use don't look like anything special.
-
Now, if you wanted to use Thomas as a traditional blocking style fullback...
-
Yeah, I'd agree. One of the areas where I've had issues with like has been depth chart decisions. That'd be one I wouldn't like at all.
-
At the skill positions perhaps, but not on the line. Those guys didn't go from being good blockers to complete turnstiles in a year. They're being used in a way that doesn't suit them, especially Ekwonu.
-
Horn is good news, but I don't really see much reason to put Ian Thomas back in except as a blocker
-
Also... I could agree with that, but they also have to be used correctly.
-
This though...
-
So apparently someone asked a question...
-
Have said the same...
-
It's possible he just wasn't ready for the job yet. Though by all accounts, he's brilliant.
-
I'd agree that's possible. Johnson is more impressive than Moore though (more experienced, too)
-
Hell, even before they got banged up they didn't look very good.
-
He'll probably go after Ben Johnson again.
-
Well, not all of it is "leak". A fair amount of it is Russini's analysis, which could be spot on or off the mark (she's generally pretty good). My takes in this discussion are based on whether her takes are correct, so...

Do you watch CJ Stroud and wonder ‘what if’?
Mr. Scot replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
Every year some team gets the best player at whatever position they draft. Hell, a couple of times that's even been us, but no team does it consistently. I personally don't give a sh-t whether we get the best player in a given year as long as we get a good one. It's still a team sport. -
Jim Schwartz is one of those guys that probably won't ever be a great head coach but is an elite level coordinator.

Still no clue
