  1. This is the kind of "hired gun" signing you've frequently seen the Patriots do in the past.
  2. Rhule wouldn't have wanted to have somebody smarter than him to stand up and speak.
  3. Hayes is as with us previously, wasn't he?
  4. Matt Rhule's "process" had everyone unhappy. Frank Reich is definitely different from what we had, though. Here's hoping he's the guy to lead us to the Promised Land.
  5. Hard to imagine another owner hiring them given what happened to the last two owners who did so
  6. My personal feeling is that the current coaching and front office team is gonna be making your chosen task easier in the years to come, potentially a lot easier.
  7. That would make sense. Still hoping the network does the right thing and tells Tom Brady to go screw himself.
  8. The value he offers is that with the ball in his hand, he's a freight train. That part of his game is hard to ignore. But yeah, he can't seem to catch to save his life.
  9. The Commanders had a guy considered a budding GM candidate in Kyle Smith, but when Rivera was given full power he preferred to stick with Hurney and being in Martin Mayhew. Smith ended up with the Falcons and just recently got promoted to Assistant GM there.
  10. Beat me to it Regardless, best of luck with this. Hope it turns out even better than you hope for.
  11. Might not be a bad idea, but unless he's assigned to the Panthers game he'll probably be out of town.
  12. Oh sure. And hey, it's not like it's too early to make this kind of judgment or anything
  13. Yeah, Snyder gave him full power. I'm wondering if the new owner will let him keep it...or will even keep him.
  14. I don't know that you can just blame Rivera for that given who makes their personnel decisions. Besides Marty Hurney, you've got Martin Mayhew as GM. The last time Mayhew was a GM, he built the Lions team that went 0-16. He was also interviewed by Jerry Richardson for the Panthers GM job in order to satisfy the Rooney Rule before he handed the job back to Hurney. Probably also noteworthy that Rivera brought former Panthers OL coach John Matsko (of whom I was never a big fan) with him, but recently fired him. Word it Is that was at the behest of Eric Bieniemy, who Rivera gave freedom to remake the offensive staff as he saw fit. They then promoted Travelle Wharton to take Matsko'a place. And while I'm a fan of Travelle, they've got Juan Castillo on staff coaching tight ends. Castillo has a longstanding rep for being a great line coach, so I'm not sure I understand that decision.
  15. Not sure. I can tell it's not Murray because the jersey number is double digits, but I can't see it well enough to see what it actually is.
  16. No big deal. Kaye offers a little context though... Cam Erving is manning the right side since Taylor Moton has a day off. Sounds like all the action is over him. Edit: You beat me to that one
  17. Speaking of potential overreaction material... I'm not one to get my hopes up over things like this and would advise others not to do so either, but it's nice to hear.
