Good observation from both of you...

I get the sentiment, but did anybody else interview him for a DC job? If somebody other than the 49ers called him, I missed it.
-
Like taking himself out of the final vote?
-
They interviewed his DL Coach.

Saints might end up needing to backfill some positions on their coaching staff...

Steve Wilks is a good man, a strong leader and someone it's very easy to cheer for. I do for the moment think that the Panthers made the correct decision, but I also hope that Steve prospers in the future.

I think the remark was something along the lines of questioning whether the fan had been drinking.
-
Said it elsewhere: That whole experience doesn't even feel real now. It's like a bad, bad dream

There's a load of talent on that defense. If he can't craft a dominant unit with the players they have, people are gonna question him.

Ironically enough, if things go well for both of them Steve Wilks and Ejiro Evero could be competing for head coaching jobs in the future.

I know he brought at least one coach with him to Denver from the Rams (DL Coach Marcus Dixon)

Unless you already have somebody that's been at least somewhat groomed for that role, that's a pretty difficult thing to do in one year.

Meanwhile over in Tampa...

Was anybody really expecting that he would, though?

Byron Leftwich may be moving to college football (no, not Nebraska) Gotta Wonder if Leftwich is rethinking his hard line negotiations with the Jaguars right now
-
One thing has become abundantly clear from reading the articles about the coaching search: That Tampa game may not have killed his chances of getting the head coaching job, but it sure as hell damaged them... significantly.
-
A quick note who knows who complain about giving jobs to fired coaches...

If, as everybody suspects will happen, Evero gets a head coaching job next season, Bradley could conceivably be back in play (depending on what happens in Indy).

Truth be told, I think Wilks gameday skill set is actually better suited for a head coaching position than a defensive coordinator. Unfortunately, one of the things that makes or breaks a head coach is smart staffing. I don't think he's got it in that area.
