Fangio makes up his mind Might be good news for Steve Wilks

See Phil's answer above. He's spot on.

Meaning something other than your tinfoil hat / uninformed speculation. I'd start with the annual agent survey that The Athletic does where they rate GMs and personnel people on things like football knowledge and trustworthiness. Fitterer and Morgan have both been discussed in the most recent few of those. There's also plenty to find in recent articles centered around the hiring of Frank Reich.

I'd say it's at least possible they go full on 3-4. Probably depends on who the DC is.

Breer's comparison to the NCAA Tournament was spot on, though at this point I think the tournament probably has fewer contestants

Meanwhile... So, Round 3 of Colts front office people trying desperately to keep their drunken owner from hiring Jeff Saturday

Good info here...

Or his himself Staley kinda feels like a runningback version of Steve Smith. (boy, would I love to see those two sit down for a conversation) Side Note: James Thrash and Todd Pinkston...Oy Ricky Manning was absolutely right about those two.

Scott Fitterer.... let's grade his drafts and FA signings
Mr. Scot replied to TheBigKat's topic in Carolina Panthers
This is a case where I'd say their backgrounds help define their roles. Back in Seattle, Fitterer and former Panther scout Trent Kirchner were co-directors of player personnel. Kirchner handled the pro personnel side while Fitterer concentrated on the draft. It's a similar arrangement to what the Saints had previously with Jeff Ireland and Terry Fontenot, though Ireland and Fontenot had actual Assistant GM titles. Now, Fitterer is the guy in charge, but he would tell you that he, Morgan and now Reich are going to be heavily collaborative in their approach. -

You always have to evaluate the combo. Sort of... Fitterer's background is all in college scouting. Morgan's is in pro personnel. That's one reason why I think our free agency haul last season was better than the one that came mostly without him. -

Do some research and tell me if you can find anybody who characterizes Fitterer the way you do.

Also heavily coveted for the DC job in Minnesota.

Better than Eberflus? Wow..

Ran into him once at a Sky Zone in Pineville. Nice guy...

Panthers Social Team is having too much fun
Mr. Scot replied to GRWatcher's topic in Carolina Panthers
Hadn't thought of that, but yeah. Mentioned elsewhere the Panthers were the only team in the league that didn't put out a media guide last year. This could have factored into that. -
FYI: Mike Klis thinks Kris Richard might be reuniting with Sean Payton Makes sense. Could also potentially explain why the Saints let him go.
-
Everything I've read says he's still under contract. He's just no longer interim head coach, which means he reverts to his previous title. That's why they didn't have to ask us for permission because technically this would be a promotion.
-
Fitterer? Doubt it. Tepper maybe...

What's the reason? From the article... If you are to believe what people in Mobile are saying, it’s due to Kyler Murray — and it’s not because the quarterback has a large say in the matter. Rather, many of the desired candidates don’t want to take the job knowing they’ll be tied to the hip of Murray for the next four seasons. Murray signed a five-year, $230 million contract in late August, and anyone who takes the Cardinals job will have no options in the foreseeable future at quarterback.

I'm not a fan, honestly.
-
I didn't say it made sense Honestly it could just be that Dennis Allen wants to move on from some of Payton's holdovers and put his own stamp on the staff.

Saints defense wasn't as good as they'd hoped last season.
