To work under Wilks...or as a potential replacement for Wilks next year?
-
Placing phone calls to Kevin Colbert and/or Will McClay. Then as soon as one of them is put in charge, go back to sitting my happy ass on the couch.
-
I get that. I also remember the quote that learning to play on the opposite side of the line is like "trying to wipe with your other hand". That said, I'm still not certain Ickey Is our best long-term option as a blind side blocker. Probably also worth noting that Moton has been around for a while.
-
Notable... I could see a scenario where he comes onboard this season as a "defensive consultant" or some such, then takes over the defense next year if Evero isn't retained or moves on.
-
That's my big issue Regardless of what you think of Bozeman, how in the hell did we pass on Frazier?
-
What did you expect this year? To quote my optometrist, is it better...or worse?
-
Bozeman was a bulldozer as a run blocker. Plus he knew his assignments and the position. To be clear though, I don't so much have an "issue" with Ekwonu as I just wonder whether he's being put to his best use.
-
What about trying him at right tackle and going after a more prototype left tackle? (I'm talking future seasons, of course; no such changes like that are possible this year)
-
Don't they all?
-
Over Blackshear... Yeah, I don't get that at all
-
Valid, but it's also true that good personnel people give coaches the kind of players they need to run their schemes. Have we done that?
-
People are down on Hubbard? Why? Hell, I think he might have been underused in the past few games.
-
Evero's defensive scheme is really complex. Do we have all the right players for it? I'm not sure, especially not given all the injuries.
-
That "when healthy" phrase is what hurts Corbett. (I might be in the minority but I find myself wishing we had kept Bozeman at that spot) Don't know if Ickey Is ever going to turn into that franchise left tackle we want him to be. If guard isn't an option you might try him at right tackle, or if one of our current guards can play that spot then move Ickey to right guard. I've pondered Hunt as a left tackle but I don't know that he's ever played that spot and it's no guarantee he'd be just as good. He's got the build for it, but that doesn't really ensure anything.
-
Settled at left tackle or still better suited to play guard?
-
Damn, that guy's persistent He'll likely still be campaigning for this (and still saying he's capable of another MVP season) after Newton passes age fifty.
-
Not sure about the Jets, but I don't exactly think that's a risk for us right now. We're already there. (and have them for a while)
-
The OL isn't there at the center spot. Also have to admit I'm still not absolutely certain Ickey isn't a better guard than tackle. Agree on Hubbard though. Seems clear the joke about our best draft pick of recent years being made by Matt Rhule's wife is gonna be around for a while.

The one person we've heard is willing to stand up to Tepper is also the guy primarily responsible for crafting this year's edition of "absolute disaster". I suppose he could say that he needs more time to rebuild, but there's definitely a "shooting yourself in the foot" aspect to that
-
We might struggle to get quality anything as long as David Tepper remains in charge.
-
As weird as the concept of Belichick enjoying anything sounds, there are actually some hints that he's learning to enjoy his current role of being able to shoot his mouth off without answering to anybody. Don't know whether that continues, but I suppose it's possible. Probably depends on just how badly he wants that all time win record.
-
Hell, is anybody out of the playoff race at this point? (besides us, I mean)
-
My guess would be they believed they had the offensive line they needed. A lot of us weren't so sure.
-
I'm generally in favor of giving more time, but I will say up front that one of the criteria I'll have for judging him will be whether or not he makes some changes to the staff and executive structure because I do believe some are needed. Of course, he has to have the power to do that and under Tepper, uou can never take these things for granted.
