  1. Meanwhile up in DC... There was a quote posted earlier where Rivera indicated he didn't know they could be eliminated from playoff contention today.
  2. Watson's not exactly making a case for it in Cleveland. Other owners hated the Browns for that. They're probably getting a good laugh out of it now.
  3. I don't really doubt that they want to pay him. I'm just not sure they can be convinced on the "fully guaranteed" part. (and I honestly don't blame them for that)
  4. Could be worse... Schuyler Callahan was a Big Matt Rhule defender. (so was Kyle Bailey)
  5. Albright has been extremely hit or miss when it comes to Panthers stuff.
  6. We've since learned from behind the scenes chronicles of Rhule's tenure that the relationship between he and Tepper actually soured pretty quickly. I:ve called Tepper "football stupid" before. Objectively speaking, I don't necessarily believe he's stupid. I do believe he's nowhere near as football smart as he thought he was. The biggest question for me this offseason is whether he understands that now. There are at least some indications that he does.
  7. Wilks and Shane Steichen were on staff together for a year in San Diego and have some common acquaintances between them. Whether or not that would be anything meaningful? Unknown.
  8. Said it elsewhere and I'll repeat it here: Steve Wilks is a high character, strong leadership guy that brings good qualities to any organization he's part of. Those qualities are what I care about. I wouldn't give a sh-t if he was from Timbuktu.
  9. Steve Wilks most certainly provides the kind of strong, high character leadership that you want in your organization. I don't think he'll get the head coaching job, but I'd still love to have him be part of the staff. Don't really think that'll happen either, but it's possible..
  10. I don't see anything there that sounds like him blaming or scapegoating Darnold.
  11. Yes, I have. He's a great college quarterback. I'm not convinced he'll be a great pro quarterback.
  12. I don't think he'll get the job either, but I wouldn't necessarily put the chances at zero.
  13. I would vote "no." but John Ellis and Mike Kaye think there is. Do they have a point?
  14. Woody Johnson kept Rex Ryan around because he liked his bravado. We can at least say we've never kept a coach employed for personality reasons. GM, on the other hand...
  15. Season was a lot of things, but it sure as hell wasn't boring. Overall though, having started the season with a should have been fired Matt Rhule I can at least now look forward to a potentially better future.
  16. Unfortunately, he didn't wait till the game was over
  17. Something that affects the team. Tepper getting punished for sh-tty turf doesn't bother me in the least.
  18. There are loads of guys with similar performances who did nothing in the NFL.
  19. That same sort of "eyeball test" got the 49ers Trey Lance.
  20. Johnson might bring Mark Brunell. Brian Johnson has never even called plays.
