  1. Oh sure. I mean who could ever possibly blame lack of practice reps for looking unprepared? Just crazy, I know
  2. Who else is to blame for the team looking completely unprepared if not the head coach?
  3. It's actually been pointed out that the snap problem was with Elflein, not Mayfield. And to be clear, we're not just talking about "a few more practice reps". We're talking about doing away with the entire dumbass quarterback competition, dispensing with the continual shuffling of the OL lineup and numerous other things that, despite the slant you want to put on this, cannot be blamed on Mayfield. The entire team that came out yesterday was thoroughly and woefully unprepared for the challenge. That lack of preparation falls on the head coach. Defend him if you want, but at this point I'd say just about everyone knows Matt Rhule is not an NFL head coach.
  4. Sorry but "at least we lost differently than how we used to" doesn't exactly excite me.
  5. I'd happily have used a 2017 7th rounder for one
  6. Yeah, that was pretty obvious. there were people arguing with me during the offseason that reps didn't matter and the way he was running camp was just fine. Haven't really heard from those people today.
  7. We've been told that Phil Snow is capable of running the defense out of a 3-4 or whatever alignment he deems best. Have yet to see it, though...
  8. I'm thinking Meyer might have set the mark last year.
  9. I mean, when you ask a guy how he's going to fix a certain problem, and he answers the question by telling you "We were ranked X in this particular stat", I'd call that pretty clear evidence that he doesn't know how to fix the problem
  10. Yeah...I know this is a schtick but...no.
  11. They beat a much better team than us while playing on the road today. So...no
  12. "The harder they get coached, the harder we have to... you know... coach."
  13. It's not the "one freaking game". I started watching football at five years old. I've seen fifty opening days since then. I know what "jitters" look like. I also know what a team that's totally, woefully unprepared looks like. That first half was, without exaggeration, some of the worst football I've ever watched. And it came against a backup quarterback ateamnd a that didnt look like anything special. It's just...bad.
  14. The problem with Burns is he was drafted at a time when we were supposed to be going 3-4. And then we only kinda did... and then we didn't...and then we got a DC who runs college schemes...and here we are. He's miscast as a 4-3 defensive end.
  15. I was told that stuff made no difference
  16. Waited till the game was actually over. They still were.
  17. Not our Brees... Could potentially be Delhomme Part Deaux
  18. I don't think Stefanski did all that great as far as the game plan. But did he outcoach Rhule? Yeah.
