I suspect Snyder will be gone more because he messed with the money than any of the other stuff. But things like this are the kind of weapons the league can effectively use to help take him out.

He's also the type that likes to do things in an unconventional way so that he can look like the smartest person in the room... ...if it works. The question is whether or not he learns anything when it doesn't.

He got figured out around week four last year and never recovered, adjusted or compensated. Maybe guys like Wilks can help him this year but the bottom line for me is that Snow, like Rhule, is basically a college coach trying to compete at the NFL level. They're both out of their depth.

Because the commissioner is serving up Snyder on a platter. It won't be Congress that takes him down. It'll be the NFL itself. This is just a sign that they're prepared to do it.

That part worries me a little bit too though. Part of the reason Tepper went for Matt Rhule was because he was a hot name in the media. The problem with that is that sometimes the media darlings aren't the best candidates, and sometimes the best candidates aren't media darlings. He needs to let someone with actual NFL qualifications run the next head coaching search. If he runs it himself, we're as likely to find the next Matt Rhule as the next Sean McVay.

Morgan has a solid pro personnel background. In the personnel area, he's second only to Fitterer. He wasn't hired until after most of last year's free agent moves had already been made so he wouldn't really have had a hand in those. This year, I'd say he had more influence.

Still TBD, but free agent moves after Dan Morgan came aboard have looked to be better.

I mean, just because somebody committed a sexual assault, it doesn't mean everybody has to know about it. Right?

Fitterer was given permission this offseason to remake the personnel department as he saw fit. I'm certainly not a big Tepper fan, but that's one move I see as a positive.

Matt Rhule is in way over his head as a pro coach, and he deserves to be fired. David Tepper is also in way over his head as an NFL owner, and unfortunately he can't be fired. That doesn't necessarily equate to Matt Rhule surviving another bad season under his watch, but having an owner who makes lousy decisions does unfortunately mean anything can happen. The hope is that Tepper isn't dumb enough to continue keeping an underperforming Rhule around, but sadly he may indeed be just that stupid.

Not so sure about that. If the NFL wants Snyder gone (and there's plenty of evidence to suggest they do) then he's gonna have a rough time making this go away.

I don't know that the specific details regarding sexual assault claim had been seen before. Previously it was just "sexual misconduct" which has a pretty broad definition. Since the victim in this case had an NDA, it wouldn't be surprising if the particulars were hidden before.

From The Athletic (Link) According to legal documents obtained by The Washington Post, the woman alleged Snyder groped her, attempted to remove her clothes and asked for sex. The incident allegedly occurred on a return flight from Las Vegas on one of the team’s private planes following a work trip. The confidential settlement was first reported in 2020 with allegations of sexual misconduct. The Post previously reported that the woman agreed not to share her allegations publicly in exchange for the $1.6 million. According to a 2020 court filing, Snyder claimed the team settled at the request of an insurance company and described the woman's allegations as "meritless." The latest details come less than 24 hours before the House Oversight Committee holds a hearing on the NFL's handling of its investigation into the Commanders' workplace culture. Snyder through his attorney declined to attend or participate in the hearing Wednesday, citing a prior overseas commitment. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell is expected to participate virtually. During a February hearing, another former employee, Tiffani Johnston, accused Snyder of sexual harassment at a work function.

I'm fine with that. It means if we have a bad season, he's the one who gets fired.

They wouldn't say it, but that doesn't mean they didn't do it. But if you're say, Matt Rhule, you could always frame it as something like "stepping away from some of the detail oriented stuff in order to focus on a more personal approach with the players" like we've heard him talk about this offseason.

I gotta believe he's gone. Only question is how and when.

Wilks was a guy that a ton of people talked up as a future head coach. I'm not sure his first shot at the job was a legit one. (definitely not a fan of Steve Keim)

Pretty good news for Tyler Ramsey. Still hoping we pull somebody from the Bills, no there's pretty good front office guys in Seattle as well.
