  1. What part of "the process is working, you just can't see it" sounded like an apology to you?
  2. Suggested by Joe Person... Try out this potential Week 1 offensive line for size: Left tackle Charles Cross, left guard Andrew Norwell, center Pat Elflein, right guard Brady Christensen, right tackle Taylor Moton. What we learned at The Combine
  3. Things were on the upswing in 2017 when he was fired. Of course that was a Richardson move so he could bring Marty back, so As far as the Giants, neither Gettleman-Shurmur nor Gettleman-Judge produced anything much.
  4. "I admit it. I don't know what I'm doing" would be a good start. "I apologize for this sh-t show" would be a nice gesture too.
  5. Pairing has a lot to do with it. Rivera-Gettleman worked. Rivera-Hurney didn't. Neither did Fox-Hurney, Rhule-Hurney or Pretty Much Anybody-Hurney. Wouldn't bet on seeing any successful pairings with Matt Rhule either, at least not at the pro level.
  6. Marty had final say on the roster. As far as "a personal level" I don't know jack about Fitterer. What I do know is he has over 20 years of scouting experience. Marty had exactly zero.
  7. What he's describing is the standard GM-Coach relationship, even among teams where the coach doesn't have final say.
  8. Kinda hoping it does. Tepper being less involved with the Panthers could actually be a good thing if he leaves them in competent hands.
  9. Think of it this way... Perhaps if he does want to focus more of his personal attention on the soccer team, he'll leave someone else running the Panthers. If it's the right person, that'd be a good thing.
  10. The 500th attempt to shove Deshaun Watson into a thread that had nothing to do with him wasn't any more "fun" than the first 499 were. As others said above, give it a rest.
  11. I think if you were to take a poll on it, most people would probably support moving Greg Hardy threads to The Lounge...or off the board entirely. And yeah, it'd be more because of Nails being a dumbsh-t than it would be Hardy himself.
  12. Chase was the last of the fired coaches that was still unemployed. Of the eight that were fired or moved on, Blackburn and Brady are the only two that didn't get the same job elsewhere.
  13. Nor is he in any position to talk to anyone that way.
  14. Disagree. Darnold has had good games in the NFL before. He has it in him. But drawing it out of him requires a lot of work. Could he be salvaged? Not sure but I'd lean towards no. It'd probably take more time and effort than anyone is likely gonna be willing to put forth.
  15. I can't recall anyone else folding that quickly. Said elsewhere that the early success was not an illusion, and it wasn't. Still, the switch got flipped after only a minimal amount of adversity. Darnold probably has it in him to be good, but you can't be fragile. The league is just far too tough and challenging for that. In fifty years of watching football, I've seen plenty of guys who looked good get broken, but never that easily.
  16. After that whole "we want the ball, we're gonna score" debacle, someone called him Nostradumbass. Kinda stuck with me...
  17. How's this? The notion that "Robby's a good WR who looked like poop with Sam" is dumb.
  18. Regardless of what you think about Darnold, the notion that all of Anderson's drops are Darnold's fault is ridiculously stupid.
  19. To be fair, this particular item is not a story we've heard before.
  20. Also true that he went bad way before things started going downhill. Anderson stunk pretty much from preseason forward.
