When I was about 9 or 10, my best friend's family took a trip to watch a Cincinnati Reds series and took me along. Amazing lineup that year. They had Tony Perez, Joe Morgan, Dave Concepcion and Pete Rose manning the infield, Johnny Bench catching, Cesar Geronimo and Griffey Sr in the outfield. Got to see Tom Seaver pitch too. Pretty sure they won the series that year. I was too young to truly appreciate just how good a team I was watching.

That's gonna be a few years.

I tried (really hard) to get into soccer back when the US was in the World Cup semifinals or whatever years back. I just couldn't do it. Baseball? Might take a while to get my feet wet again.

Haven't been to The Beacon in a long time.

DaQuan Jones on The Golden Calf of Bristol

This is probably a fair take... -
Looks like it... I know a lot of folks aren't big fans of the playing surface down there, and even less are fans of the heat.
-
Panther memorabilia with Tepper on it would actually be kind of cringeworthy. Pretty sure nobody owns any Raven stuff with pictures of Steve Bisciotti on it.
-
Nope. Don't even have his image as the wallpaper on my phone. Am I not allowed in the meetings anymore?
-
You told me he was in the room next to you! I'm starting to think you might not have been telling the truth
-
You think Matt Rhule saying "Dave leaves the football stuff to me and Scott" is taken out of context?
-
If I'm being completely honest, neither do I. Haven't really been much of a baseball fan since I was a kid playing Little League. But I figure there are a fair number of people here who do. Maybe if the Carolinas got a team, I'd be interested again.
-
You might have to since apparently Matt Rhule's word isn't enough.
-
Well, in my defense, I get my information from the people who are actually involved with the team. I realize you think watching Showtime is a better source, but I disagree.
-
The Charlotte area has pro football, pro basketball and soon to be pro soccer. How do you feel about pro baseball? (and the Oakland A's in particular)
-
Except all of the moves made this offseason have been made without David Tepper's direction. Source: Matt Rhule I get that you want to believe David Tepper is running everything, but the people who are actually involved say he's letting them do their jobs without interference. He doesn't dictate anything. He just asks questions. And despite your hero worship, that's actually the best thing he could do.

Outside of being "long term", isn't this also the common perception of Matt Rhule? -

It's apparently not a universally loved decision within the Jaguars staff. -
-
Pretty much. He'll be back for camp. Whether or not he makes it out of camp is a whole other question.

Couple of articles that have been written about him portray him as a hardass to both players and staff alike. Remember he stopped practice and jumped all over guys that were being lazy at the Senior Bowl. Edit: Found the discussion we had on it a while back (The Wrath of Rhule) -

One of the first results that came up when I searched him. Lotta teams don't even put their scouts on the team site, so it's not easy to find stuff on em. Update: Official Announcement -

Saban didn't quit midseason, did he? I know Bobby Petrino did. -
