  1. I'd imagine Stafford also remembers that Mayhew is the guy who built the team that went 0-16.
  2. Randy Fasani is the name you say when somebody starts making too much of a player's outstanding performance in the preseason.
  3. From what I've read, I think that comes from Pete Carroll. And for sure, he'll be working with Matt Rhule so whatever Rhule prioritizes, he will too.
  4. From the article... "But before we do anything outside, I need to figure out who's here. I need to figure out this roster. I need to figure out who's on our offensive line, who's on our defensive line. I know them from a 30,000-foot view, but I need to know them from a coaching standpoint, and a personal standpoint, and meet these guys and see what they're made of. Confirming again that the trenches are central to his team building philosophy...
  5. It's a phrase Scott Fitterer used in his presser. Basically it means that they're going to explore every opportunity. Ian Rapoport mentioned that pretty much anytime there's a player coming available or something like that happening, when Insiders go to check on who might be interested, Seattle is just about always on the list. And once they identify someone they want, they go after them aggressively. Sounds like that's gonna be us from here on out, so if you've been frustrated in the past, asking yourself questions like "Why aren't the Panthers checking into this?", you should probably be pretty happy now.
  6. When Muhsin Muhammad was drafted, he said he was happy to be a North Carolina Panther. We were still pretty new at the time so it was forgivable. Now, not so much.
  7. As someone who also has two older sisters, my favorite part...
  8. My significant other would say Dak Prescott. (I'm not sure I would but I can't say that out loud)
  9. What? You're not satisfied with Tre Boston?
  10. I'll say this. I know people have talked about how the Seahawks got Russell Wilson, and extrapolated that to say that you could get a franchise quarterback without necessarily using a high pick. While that's technically true, it's also extremely hard, and I think Fitterer knows this. Guys like Wilson and Brady are lightning in a bottle, the exception rather than the norm. I don't believe for one moment that Fitterer's going to try to duplicate that here, nor should he.
  11. Fitterer mentioned arm strength as something he values in a quarterback.
  12. I think trading down is very possible...in future drafts. It's purely a gut feeling, but I think if we do trade in the first round of this draft it's going to be up, not down.
  13. Rhule told Joe Person he likes having more picks because you have a better chance of hitting on your picks. In the process, he basically confirmed that he wanted to trade down last year.
  14. Jonathan Jones said it would take at least McCaffrey and Brian Burns plus picks to make that trade.
  15. With him being someone that Rhule tried to recruit to Baylor, definitely.
  16. Scott Fowler asked him a question about having "his guys" in charge now. Tepper mentioned that he got some criticism for his moves early on citing that some people "said I got rid of Rivera too early...moved on from Rivera too early". He did acknowledge that the team is now run by people he chose rather than people he inherited. As such, there's no one else to blame if things go wrong.
  17. Gut feeling: I think he's given at least some preliminary thought to trading up.
  18. Let's not leave out this part... "I believe in drafting/acquiring a quarterback every year."
  19. Think of it this way... When you look at Sean McDermott, do you see a carbon copy of Ron Rivera? Likewise, can't assume Fitterer will be exactly like John Schneider.
