Yeah, if you can watch that conversation and come away with the idea that Fitterer is the guy pushing for Corral, you probably need your ears checked.
-
McAdoo technically had way more NFL pedigree than Rhule did. Mind you, that didn't mean he was good.
-
Not immediately. Immediately after we got Baker Mayfield though, yeah.

The behind the scenes stuff is gonna be way more telling than the pressers. Publicly, every team always gets everybody they were targeting and they're all thrilled. The one aspect I agree with is that it was always obvious Rhule preferred a veteran while Fitterer wanted a draft pick. My guess would be Tepper ruled on that particular discussion, but once it got to draft day and it was time to pick, Rhule pretty clearly got impatient. And of course afterward, he got Mayfield so Corral went to the back of the line.

Definitely not the sense you get watching the tape from last year (posted earlier). The guy who lobbied hardest for him pre-draft was Ben McAdoo, but on the day of the draft itself Matt Rhule is the one doing the lobbying. Mind you, that's prior to their getting Mayfield, at which point Rhule started treating Corral like a college freshman.

On that front...

I could see it. There are till five spots available on the practice squad.

Good find. Struck by a couple of things watching that, first being Rhule's mention that Dan Morgan was convicted on Corral "at one time". I'd be interested to know if that meant he came off of it. When the call from New England comes in asking if we're interested, Fitterer starts saying "let's see what happens here" but Rhule interrupts with "that's a yes". Just prior to that, you can hear Rhule talking about how patient they've been so far, but not sounding particularly patient himself at the time. And then of course you have Tepper joining in. Also did find it funny that it was Rhule on the phone with New England Rather than Fitterer or Morgan. Possible. l wasn't as certain because Fitterer has kind of a blank, hard to read face (pretty decent poker face) but yeah, I could see it.

Kudos to the Dolphins for this

Derek Wright gone too, as well as Chandler Wooten (could see them potentially coming back on the practice squad)

Nothing yet on whether they'll be brought back

One less Rhule pick off the street...

You're right. Marty did a fantastic job as GM. The revisionist take that he sucked should be dispelled
