  1. I don't think it's the debate that gets heated so much as some of the people involved in it. (generally for silly reasons)
  2. Very true. I remember sitting at a dinner with a lady who felt otherwise though. Had some rather uncomfortable moments where I wasn't certain whether she wanted to jump my bones or stab me through the heart
  3. To be clear, the guys making the pick aren't really going to be all that concerned with what happens to the team if they're fired. (and why should they be?) They're going to be making the pick that they feel is best for them. And realistically, that's what they should do. As far as ability, if they don't feel like there's a huge difference in that, why not take the guy they have to make fewer adjustments for?
  4. I wouldn't say these guys are beating anyone but...point taken
  5. It's been reported that he doesn't want to go to a team with a rookie quarterback anyway, so I wouldn't think our chances of getting him are all that high either way.
  6. Respect, like for example not accusing people who disagree with you of having ulterior motives, wanting to cheer against the team, etc Your schtick is already well known, and isn't fooling anyone.
  7. It has more to do with the fact that you've continued pretty much the same pattern ever since. Like I said, antagonizing people and then pretending you're the one being attacked doesn't exactly speak well of someone's character.
  8. I wouldn't argue that, though there are some who would (and did, at the time)
  9. Quick tip, dude: Mods like Rayzor and Linville can tell when somebody has an alias. So if I had an alt ID, they'd know. Likewise, they know about any you've set up as well. I'm guessing you'll respond by saying that Rayzor is part of the conspiracy against you but...
  10. You should probably change the first part of your screen name to "Irony" One of the first things you threw up in here was to suggest that people would cheer against the team if they didn't pick the guy they wanted. That's proven par for the course since. Coming into a discussion with an antagonistic viewpoint then acting picked on when people respond with antagonism is generally a sign of being immature or just being a jerk (or both). I've suggested it was immaturity on your part but when you get right down to it either one or both could be true. (the responses you're choosing definitely suggest that)
  11. Hurney confirmed we had Carr rated above Peppers and would have taken him as the pick had we been in the #1 spot.
  12. Calling you kid actually has nothing to do with who you prefer and more to do with the fact that you act like one. If all you did was advocate for Young, I doubt anybody would have an issue. What you do instead is accuse others of ulterior motives, tout your own supposed virtue and continuously play the victim. Rayzor was correct.
  13. We're going to get the quarterback that the Panthers want. Whether or not it happens to be the quarterback that certain fans want is inconsequential.
  14. The vast majority of people I've seen preferring Stroud (myself included) generally add "but I'd be okay with Young". I've not seen all that many aggressively bash either one.
  15. Draft Stroud and that problem likely takes care of itself
  16. It actually makes me nervous because historically, whenever the Panthers have had a choice between two players they've tended to take the wrong one (Kerry Collins over Steve McNair, Tshimanga Biakabutuka over Eddie George, etc) Of course, those were different Panthers organizations so I'm hoping this new version gets it right.
  17. Icege and I only posted excerpts. The full article is actually much longer For me, I really enjoy reading and I love knowing behind the scenes stuff.
