  1. From Albert Breer (Link) The first quarterbacking domino could fall this week, with Derek Carr a free agent and Aaron Rodgers coming out of the darkness. As we reported this morning, Carr expressed to the Jets his desire to survey the landscape, and the Jets’ plan has been to do the same, but the mutual interest there is very real. On top of that, whatever decision comes from Rodgers could wind up greasing the skids for moves from other teams at the position, and the Packers—like the Jets—are staying loose with their quarterbacking plans. And this week is important because those two teams, and the other 30, will be here. So not only should we soon have answers on Carr and Rodgers, the market for guys such as Jimmy Garoppolo, Daniel Jones and Geno Smith could start to take shape in the skyways, hotel lobbies and quiet corners of the convention center in Indy. What’s more, what happens there certainly could (and probably should) impact how hungry certain teams in the top half of the first round are for Bryce Young, CJ Stroud, Will Levis and Anthony Richardson. Which is to say Carr and Rodgers may be the first one we get answers on, but there’ll be plenty of meat left on the information bone after we have those.
  2. An important part of the schedule for us...
  3. Not really... What King actually stated was that he heard a rumor, which he stated right up front "might be smoke" that none of the quarterback needy teams were interested in either guy. That sounded like bullsh-t right from the start, but since it's now reported that all the teams in question are meeting with Carr this week, I'd say it's confirmed. But the fine "journalists" at Bleacher Report decided to run with it as if it were but definitive statement.
  4. Also expected and now official...
  5. Except he didn't... King said there was "a rumor (which might just be smoke)" that nobody wanted Rodgers or Carr. Quoting it as a definitive statement is shoddy work.
  6. Any chance you can edit the title of the Combine thread to read "Day 1-3" so it covers all the pre-drill discussion?
  7. Expected...and I believe the first tag to be officially applied.
  8. You won't. The story's been shown to be bullsh-t so they took it down.
  9. Carr and Wentz aren't the same guy. I would say, given their respective personalities, I have pondered the possibility that Carr and Reich could easily hit it off. That said, I expect the full braintrust (not just Reich) to weigh the decision carefully.
  10. It's not news. King had addressed a rumor (which he stated up front was quite possibly bullsh-t) that nobody wanted Carr or Rodgers. Bleacher Report apparently quoted that blurb. With news that every one of the teams in question (including us) is now scheduled to meet with Carr at least, Bleacher Report has taken the story down.
  11. I'm not. We've finally got football smart people in decision making positions. Whatever they decide will have been thoroughly discussed.
  12. If you don't mind, do me a favor and change the thread title to "Day 1-3". That way it encompasses all the pre-drill discussion.
  13. We're looking at having a rock star coaching staff as well as a solid front office. As a Panther fan I'm always conscious of not getting my hopes up...but damn
  14. I was thinking more about that #3 pick.
