Some general info...

It's come up in discussion before.

From Rhule's introductory press conference (David Tepper speaking) We were all sitting there interviewing Matt and it was me, Marty and Steven Drummond. And Marty's going with his toughness and his questions and we're about halfway through the interview and Marty Hurney starts melting down. And you could see Marty and he's like 'I've gotta get into recruiting mode now.' So Marty goes from total interview mode to putting on the recruiting mode. And Steve and I looked at each other and looked at Marty and didn't say a word, and we just all went into recruiting mode because we knew we had something special. Everybody's sarcasm detectors not working this morning? I know it's easier to detect with the emojis but there's some sort of problem with those this morning.

Some other insight from a female point of view... If you want to talk to me on the topic of Steve Wilks not being the right guy for the future, we can have a reasonable conversation. If you broach that topic with Lady Cowboy Fan, you'd best be prepared for a fight...and not necessarily just a verbal one She is absolutely, 100% on the hire Steve Wilks train.

Well, given the list of candidates, I'd say there's a pretty good chance that's what happens.

She has a point

I'm not honestly sure what kind of coach I'd classify Rhule as. (other than a sh-tty one)

I don't know that anybody has a problem with her being a woman. What some people do have an issue with is that she has no football background, which is a valid concern. Also fair to point out that neither do David Tepper nor Steven Drummond (who was involved the last time, don't know that he will be on this one). Of course, as someone else put it, she has one unique qualification. She can get away with telling Tepper to shut his mouth if needed. That's worth something

Mike Kaye said something similar... At this point, it looks like unless it's Wilks, we're going to have our first offensive head coach.

Kafka? No. Dorsey? Don't think so. He spent a year as a scout though.

Tepper already interviewed Bieniemy. So has pretty much everybody else, and this time around nobody's asking. There's a reason he's not a head coach right now.

As to our other Rooney Rule interview, I know some are speculating Demeco Ryans but given our offensive focus, I'm kind of wondering if it might not be Byron Leftwich. Leftwich could also conceivably be an OC candidate under Steve Wilks If Tampa parts ways with him (which has been speculated as a possibility). Noteworthy as well, while he's been a hot commodity in previous offseasons, to date this year Leftwich has not received a single request to interview.

I won't be surprised if Harbaugh either already has another job or has definitively gone back to Michigan before we even finish our interviews.
