  1. Full context of Person's answer about Ben Johnson (quoted in the other thread)... The buzz in league circles is that Tepper is enamored with Johnson, whose innovative schemes helped the Lions finish fifth in the NFL in scoring offense and total offense in his first season as offensive coordinator. Johnson’s a sharp guy — with degrees from UNC in math and computer science — so you’d have to think he’s going to nail his interview this week. The 36-year-old Johnson, who was the Lions’ tight ends coach in 2021, is an in-demand candidate. The Asheville, N.C., native has interviewed with the Texans and Colts, but Tepper proved three years ago with Matt Rhule he’s not going to be outbid. I think Wilks has to be in the top 3 after taking over a bad situation and nearly guiding the Panthers to the playoffs. The Panthers were competitive in every game but one under Wilks, whose support from players can’t be ignored. The wild card could be a candidate whose team gets hot and makes a deep playoff run, someone like the Eagles’ Steichen or Buffalo offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey. But that would require Tepper to be patient, and he might not care to wait if he’s blown away by Johnson. In fact, the search could be wrapped up this week if Johnson is the choice. The Panthers have requested permission to speak with Broncos defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero, who is expected to take the interview. Evero would become the second external minority candidate to interview, which would satisfy the Rooney Rule requirements.
  2. FYI... In the article, Person reports the "buzz" In league circles is that Tepper is "enamored" with Johnson.
  3. Kinda doubt Wilks would want to move on from Al Holcomb.
  4. If you're looking for links to Manuel though, I think this is the guy you should probably be focused on. They were teammates for a year in Carolina. Manuel also played a few years in Seattle while Morgan was in the Seahawks front office. (which, incidentally, would also link him to Scott Fitterer)
  5. We haven't even talked to Dorsey yet
  6. That's a possibility too. Again, morons...
  7. I don't think they'll move on this year but that's the hypothetical scenario this thread is based on. I do think they'll ultimately move on without much of anything much to show for him. It just might not be this year.
  8. As to today's games... He may have moved on, but the legacy and influence of Matt Rhule are still being felt around the league
  9. Chargers medical staff found the source of the problem...
  10. That's some world class rationalization there. If they move on from a guy they gave up that much to get in just his third year when they've barely seen him play, yeah they think he's a bust.
  11. It's probably be for Payton. But even if it weren't, it's the Spanos family. They're morons.
  12. Al Michaels was probably thinking this was another sh-tty Amazon game, but then...
  13. Need one with Brandon Staley and a caption that reads DUUUMMMBSHIIIIT.
  14. Sean Payton might be coaching the Chargers by next week.
  15. Okay, maybe Payton has a shot after all
  16. If the Chargers really do manage to lose this...
  17. At this point, they've barely even shown up.
